Baiuka Grill — Restaurant in Cascais

I should read some reviews here before I went to this place.a viewer said Do not order grill fish here, i think It's true. I ordered my food within 5 minute after I sit down. I came before dinner time, they weren't busy at all. One hour later I only served with salad, Other table came after me already finished their meal(they order the hamburger and steak. Like most the tables) After I asked is my dinner still coming out, I was told they were busy… later I was told again they forgot my order completely, and it's pushing to hour and half, so I paid for my drink, salad, and left. Service is really bad as well, if you are good server, when you customer don't have their food over a hour, you should noticed the kitchen before customers asks. Not making excuses saying you are busy,like custom is being impossible . I do think it's reasonable to ask when it's over a hour wait, it's not like I was rushing the kitchen staff to hurry after 10 minutes. won't be coming back for sure. P.S: Funny now Europeans expect tourist (especially Americans) to leave tips, but their service are not where near North American standard. Maybe you should copy how we serve then...

When we arrived, just the owner/manager was having a meal, no one else was there. Service was abysmal. They do have menus in several languages, but no detail unless you read Portuguese, and still not much detail. I showed the server several pictures and he had no idea what menu items they were.

Ordered bread, butter, olives. Ironically bread and olives best part of the meal. We got the steak, prawns, seabass and swordfish.

The steak was like leather. It was maybe 1cm thick and unable to be chewed. Served with frozen wedge fries. Awful plate and dish.

The swordfish WAS NOT SWORDFISH. It was some boney fillet of white fish, seemed more like snapper. We fish a lot and know our fish.

Seabass was pretty great, small fish so mostly bones.

Prawns were old, frozen, dirty and 1/2 tasted off.

Complained to said manager, he agreed to remove steak from bill. Offered dessert but also charged us for those when he imposed gratis. Other tables were sat after us and got food before us. It was a bad experience. 2 stars over 1 for removing steak from bill, but lying about type of fish should...

When arriving at the restaurant we sat down and waited for approximately 15 minutes until a waiter approached us, when we had an opportunity to request menus. We were informed that we weren't allowed to consume or have our bottle of water on the table, as we'd not purchased it from the restaurant. This is normally a fair request, in instances where it's actually possible to order a drink and have it served to you in a fair amount of time.

The menus took around 10 minutes to arrive. We then waited for another 15 minutes for the waiter to come and take our order. He still didn't arrive to take our order so we cut our losses and walked next door to Azimut, where we were served promptly and ate a delicious meal.

I can't comment on the food in Baiuka as we gave up and walked out before we had the opportunity to try it. It might be nice if you're willing to wait a long time to...
