The food was of good quality. The atmosphere felt tense, largely due to the manager, Patricia. There were two new waiters who, despite being nervous, were doing their absolute best—credit to them for their effort and professionalism by always checking on us and making sure everything was perfect for guests, always with a smile on their faces. We wanted to tip them both directly and checked with the manager first, who confirmed it was allowed but then tried to dissuade us from doing so by saying that it wasn’t a good incentive or that it wouldn’t be encouraging for the new starters to tip them. This felt unprofessional and disheartening. The waiters seemed almost afraid to accept the tip and wanted to refuse it at first, which says a lot about the work environment. Great effort from the staff, but disappointing management which showed very forced friendliness. This little neighborhood golden gem was a couple of blocks from our Cascais VRBO. We walked past a number of times but finally stopped in one night. So glad we did. Even though we didn’t have a reservation and the place was almost full, the manager gladly seated us. The combo of Brazilian & Portuguese food was really nice. Fantastic experience! The ambiance was beautiful and welcoming, and the service was truly excellent. This was a work dinner with our group of 12 from Instituto de Implantologia, which is right next to the restaurant, and everything was handled flawlessly.
