This place isn't classy or sophisticated but the atmosphere is very pleasant and true to an off-the-beaten-path beach town fish restaurant that does not enjoy a view of the beach or a hip young crowd vibe but simply lives and breathes the art of cooking fish to perfection. The cook and staff are the nicest people ever and you feel like you are having dinner in their living room. We had a "massada de peixe" - fish pasta - that was impressive but the true "crown jewel" was the "espetada de lulas" - grilled squid skewer. I am a Portuguese expat that ALWAYS eats espetada de lulas when I am back in Portugal and have NEVER had a better espetada de lulas than here. The taste was exquisite, the texture, wow, just like butter. My mouth waters just thinking about it. And speaking of mouth watering and butter, their butter sauce is just to die for and complements the squid and the wonderful roasted potatoes simply wonderfully!!!! After booking for a table and half of the group arrived, were sit, relaxed and eating (other half were on the way to the restaurant). The manager's restaurant came and kicked us out. The justification was that there were other people waiting for a table to eat. He was extremely rude. Always a good place to eat when in the Oeiras area of Portugal. Family run and home cooked meals. Seafood is amazing. Barbecue chicken and grilled steaks very tasty. Never a problem here with reservations or bookings. Keep in mind this is a very small restaurant with limited seating. My advice would be to make sure that your party is on time, as this is a busy little place and if your party arrives late you may end up forfeiting your table or tables.
