World traveler alert: It says "snack bar" on the front but it really is a fine little eatery in the "tasca" tradition. Think Italian trattoria or Greek taverna if you're not familiar with the term. Usually family run with good, simple, and home/handmade food - the "peoples cuisine" of Portugal. Perfect price/quality ratio. We spent a week in this great town and had our lunches here for the duration. Ate for a week in different restaurants in Elvas and they do not always match the reviews. Can be quite mixed and some disappointing and tired even with good reviews but this was a great place and wish I went earlier in the week. Authentic Portuguese local restaurant. A comida é saborosa, sem ser nada de especial. A questão do preço médio que está nos comentários, engana. O menu de 9 euros é apenas o prato e sopa. Tudo o resto é pago à parte e, por umas iscas, uma perna de frango, 0,5lt de vinho corrente, duas coca colas, uma água e uma só sobremesa, ficou a conta em 35.90€. Por comparação e porque as comparações são inevitáveis, paguei no dia anterior no el Cristo ( considerado caro), por dois jantares, com bacalhau dourado e pica pau de vitela ( delicioso e no prato, com acompanhamentos), bebidas e uma sobremesa também, 37€.

Obviamente, não são dois restaurantes da mesma classe, condições e serviço, pelo que achei desajustado o preço...
