Avista Ásia — Restaurant in Funchal

I cannot put into words what a wonderful evening we had in Avista Asia Restaurant. 5 Stars are simply not enough...

On entering the restaurant we were warmly welcomed by Vanessa who took us to our table which had amazing ocean views.

Sérgio was fabulous and recommended the most perfect wine choice for us, Philippa and Lucy were so professional, knowledgeable about our food choices and super attentive.

Our meal was definitely the best food we have ever tasted and we hope to return again one day.

We attempted to simply walk in and we were informed that a reservation was required. The manager was really kind and flexible, telling us he could get us a seat in an hour and that in a mean time we go to the bar for drink. After an hour, we met Vanessa who showed us to our spot, which was right on the balcony with a breathtaking view. As a sushi chef at first I don’t have high expectation for Avista Asia since it’s sushi fusion in Madeira but I was wrong everything was very fresh, creative and flavourful. They even had fresh wasabi which I am very surprise for fusion sushi restaurant. Their fish was not the best I’ve had but very fresh. From food to service and ambiance outstanding I couldn’t ask for more. Thanks to all wonderful staffs and chefs. I will be back....
