Café do Parque by Loft Brunch no.monte — Restaurant in Funchal

We came across this place while we went to visit the tropical gardens, we went in for a snack and some drinks, this place is sooo relaxed , very clean ,beautiful decor and the staff were soooo friendly and seemed very proud to work there. This location is in a peaceful area of Monte, great relaxing vibe. On each table there were cards games so you could relax and enjoy a game or 2 with your friends and family. We really enjoyed this and spent hours playing UNO !!! so we went to visit this lovely place a few more times while we were in Funghal. The food is really delicious and very good quality, the vegan burger was fantastic! and you must have a taste of the desserts....Lovely collection of cheesecakes. The food and selection were generally good, but unfortunately the service was lacking. We waited 15 minutes before anyone brought us two menus, even though the restaurant wasn’t full.

I ordered a dish with two Eggs Benedict, but it was served with hard-boiled eggs. When I pointed this out, the waiter tried to convince me that poached eggs in Eggs Benedict can be hard-boiled, and that this was common both at this restaurant and in England, where he claimed to have worked for many years. I think they could benefit from reading up a bit on what Eggs Benedict actually is. Arguing with a guest about it probably isn’t the wisest approach either. I don't often give 5 stars. But what a winner. Popped in for a bit of lunch and ended up tasting some amazing food. Ordered Funchal eggs and it was delicious the sauce was amazing. My partner ordered New York burger and he was so happy with it, he said it tasted amazing. Finally we ordered a child's meal for my 10 YO and it came with scrambled eggs (or nuggets option) rice chips and salad what a treat, for a fussy eater she had it all. They serve cocktails and beers, coffees are great. All home made food. Pretty quick to get served and the food usual time you would wait. Prices are a bit more expensive then at the centre, however, you pay for what you get and it was brilliant. The staff was also lovely....
