I had high hopes for this restaurant but, it fell far short of expectations. The wait time for food was unbearable. My friends and I waited over an hour and a half for just five dishes. When the waiter took our order, we asked for recommendations, only to be told that “everything is popular” from their extensive menu. That response felt like a red flag, but we decided on shrimp vindaloo, lamb jalfrezi, lamb biryani, and butter naan.
The portion sizes were shockingly small. We even double-checked with the waiter beforehand to confirm if the food would be enough, and he reassured us it would. It wasn’t.
Adding to the frustration, other diners who arrived around the same time were also complaining about the delays. When asked how much longer the food would take, the waiter gave everyone the same generic response: “10 minutes, everything fresh.” Sadly, that wasn’t the case. When the food finally arrived, it tasted far from fresh and didn’t justify the lengthy wait.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience. If you’re accustomed to quality Indian cuisine, I recommend steering clear of this place and exploring local...
Read moreJust felt like eating indian while in Madeira and found this place on Google and boy, am I happy that I did! The cook is also out serving sometimes and he is a super nice guy and an excellent chef! Made adjustments to the dish I wanted, just like I wanted. Probably the best indian restaurant I have ever been to.
The first time I had spicy butter chicken with garlic naan and mango lassi as a drink. Everything authentic to indian style. It was so good that I had to come back the next day. The next day i ordered the same just with chicken Tikka Marsala. I lack words to describe how tasty it was!!
Price was absolutely fair! Actually even cheap in my opinion, since I am used to much higher prices for indian food...
Read moreAlthough off the main road, this restaurant is well worth a detour. Muhammed made us feel so welcome and the customer service, attention to detail and our satisfaction was his priority. The food was delicious, well cooked and well presented. We had the poppadoms, chutney tray, prawn pakora, chicken tikka for starters and then the chicken balti (which they made to my wife's request of more chilli and garlic). I had the prawn balti with a shared mushroom rice and garlic naan bread (yes, we were hungry!). We would highly recommend this Indian restaurant if you are in the Funchal area and it is definitely worth taking the detour off the main road. Many thanks Muhammed for your superb...
