O Rústico — Restaurant in Funchal

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you leave O Rústico hungry, that’s on you — portions here are so massive you’ll start wondering if they’ve mistaken you for a whole football team. The espetada is basically a medieval weapon disguised as dinner, the octopus is so tender it should come with a pillow, and the bolo do caco is so good I considered proposing to it.

The staff are the kind of friendly that makes you feel like you’ve been going there for years (even if you just wandered in wearing tourist shorts and a confused face). Prices? Let’s just say you’ll pay less than a poncha session in Funchal, and get enough food to question why you ever eat anywhere else.

Only danger: you’ll eat so much you’ll need rolling back down to Funchal — but hey, that’s what the Monte sledges are for, right?

My boyfriend ordered chicken and rice. After almost finishing it, we discovered that the chicken was partly undercooked. We told the waiter, who apologised, but said that 'only parts' were undercooked. Even if this is true, you cannot sell undercooked chicken. We received the bill that night, by which time my boyfriend had started suffering from bad food poisoning.

Although my food was nice (except for the fries) and cheap, my boyfriend had to pay for it with his health, and two days of our holiday were ruined.

Não recomendo ! Marcamos este restaurante para um almoço em família , o dono sugeriu que fizéssemos buffet , concordamos pois seria mais fácil tanto para nós como para ele . 12.50€ por pessoa , éramos 13 adultos , logo só o valor do buffet foi 175.00 o que nas minhas contas está incorrecto . Quando estávamos já de saída pedia a dona do estabelecimento uma caixinha para levar UM POUCO de bacalhau com natas , com muita agressividade respondeu-me que se eu quisesse levar teria de pagar mais 12.50€ ! E eu disse desculpe mas acho injusto , e com agressividade novamente respondeu-me “ injusto não é, quer levar tem de pagar” ! Então se pagámos 12.50€ para um buffet NOSSO, como poderíamos ter de pagar novamente para levar um pouco de comer ? Queria saber qual seria o destino de todo o comer que deixamos !! Iria vender aos clientes que pedissem tal prato ? Dar aos seus empregados e a ela própria pra levar para casa ou iria deitar no lixo ? Inacreditável ! Deveria ter vergonha ou até mesmo ter um pouco de dignidade . Dessa maneira desconfio que tenha sorte no negócio. E para completar , a funcionária que tinha as unhas de gel enormes e que estava a fumar dentro do estabelecimento. Pobre coitado do dono que é muito simpático e atencioso e ficará com o negócio arruinado com estes dois...
