El Mariachi — Restaurant in Guimarães

If you like Tacos then you are in for a treat!

Craved some Mexican and after being in Portugal for nearly 2 years, it is hard to find a place that serves a good portion Mexican.

How happy I was when I saw the Tacos here at El Mariachi, Juicy and full of added flavour, they did not shy away from extra condiments either. The Nachos with chilli where also a treat and had just the right level of heat.

Throw in some cheeky cocktails (Strawberry Margarita and a CoronaRita) which really tips this place as a fun date night. The shot of tequila added in free of charge at the end was a nice touch.

Staff really pleasent and where happy to talk about the menu and Mexican cuisine.

If ever back in Guimaraes I will return and until then I will dream of the Al...

That was an awesome time! A friend of ours told us about this place, and we have been craving Mexican food for a while. We just moved to the area, and have been looking for a place that has vegetarian options for my partner. The food was absolutely fantastic, the cocktails were on another level, and this is coming from a guy from Chicago who worked in the bar industry, I’m telling you, they were excellent! And somehow, someway, the service was better than the food and the drinks, the guys were just super fun and nice, and I’m pretty sure the guys name is Luis, but I can’t remember right now but I’m gonna go back for sure and double check. As someone who have been to the old and the new location, can say that definitely the new location gives plenty of space for you not having to struggle with reservations. It's more modern, but has a nice atmosphere due to the good Mexican decoration. Food continue to be top notch Tex Mex. The tacos are too die for... They are definitely my recommendation. The fajitas are good also, but nothing beats the tacos. The brownie as a dessert is very very good. Gooey with dulce de leches as topping, go for it!
