A really cool brunch spot in Ferragudo. I don't know of any others in the direct area, so this is a pleasant addition to the neighbourhood, especially as so many other places cater to older tourists. This attracts a younger crowd.
It is a little on the higher side in terms of price, but everything is fresh and tasty. The bowls are all excellent ingredients and prepared fresh. The pancakes were actually better than I expected, but you don't get many. (That was fine. I also ordered a granola bowl knowing it was only a two.) Smoothie bowl was also surprisingly good. There wasn't nearly enough granola for me, but lots of fresh fruit and the smoothie was great.
The juice of the day and juice mixes were a bit underwhelming and didn't really have strong flavours. Coffee was tasty and well made.
I was curious about the sheer number of bruschetta options on the menu and perhaps will try one of those next time.
Cute upstairs area, and the decor obviously took a lot of thought and care to give it the relaxed vibes it has. Patio is spacious with seating in the sun or shade. And the service was all very friendly and quick!
Can't wait...
Read moreLOVE!!!! We had spotted this restaurant while driving through town on a couple of occasions and commented it looked nice. As we walked through the main square tonight….(fairly uninspired by the ‘same’ menus from many of the restaurants), we remembered the ‘brunch in Rio was just a 3 minute walk away…..we are SO glad we went. The staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The menu was new and interesting - nothing typical or repetitive here…..new ideas, new flavours and so very delicious! The restaurant is decorated tastefully, the presentation of the food was wonderful and the taste was incredible. 3 adults 2 children…..and we all cleared every bite off our plates. Being situated just off the main square, I really hope people spot this restaurant or remember to walk the extra 100yrds to get there - it’s so so worth it and we wish them all the very best...

We have been to this village over 15 times and always like to try the new places. We came here for breakfast yesterday and loved it.
The service was friendly and it was very nicely decorated. The coffee was lovely and the ‘brunch in Rio’ cocktail was brilliant.
We went for the Banana and oat pancakes, smoked salmon Bao bun and the bruschetta with prosciutto, goats cheese and egg. The pancakes were soft and delicious, as was the smoked salmon Bao served with sweet potato fries. However the ‘brunch in Rio bruschetta’ was a let down - the flavours just didn’t taste right together and egg whites were very undercooked so will order different next time.
Will defo come back though and try more of the options. Check it out if...
