This is our first time in Ferragudo and we couldn’t have asked for better accommodation. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Louisa who was so welcoming and accommodating. After some welcome drinks and a tour we very quickly and easily settled in to our holiday as we were made to feel at home. ||We stayed in one of the 3 bedroom apartments. Beautifully clean and really well equipped. So much attention to detail. They are set over 4 floors - kitchen on the ground floor, bedroom, bathroom and living room on the 1st and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the 2nd floor. Each floor had a balcony with a dining area. The top floor was then a roof terrace with stunning views over the harbour and on to Portimao. ||The pool area is beautiful. Lots of different seating areas for different purposes. We had lunch on the sofas, breakfast at the bar stools and sun bathed on the loungers. All immaculately kept. We even availed of the BBQ one evening and Louisa and her staff provided us with all the utensils and the coals. ||We had 2 young children with us who also loved the games room in the basement area. Pool table and table tennis. This area also stored bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, beach umbrellas, buckets, spades, wet suits, life jackets etc. All of this was available to borrow on request at no additional charge. For families who can’t bring all of these things on holiday this was just excellent. ||We also loved the honesty bar. A great selection of drinks and a lovely coffee machine. Just a thoughtful touch. You even had the option of joining a yoga class or availing of a massage at an extra cost. ||Ferragudo was only a 5 minute walk down some stairs in to the square. A handful of restaurants to choose from and a beautiful beach. Perfect if you prefer to avoid the larger tourist areas in Portugal. ||Louisa is clearly very proud of her business, knows it inside out and goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. She recommended restaurants, areas to visit and even booked a boat tour for us with a company she trusted. Her knowledge of the area is such a valuable resource. I would hesitate to return or...
Read moreMy partner and I recently travelled to Portugal for the first time and found this hotel using a hotel comparison site - we later learned that you can get a discount if you book direct with the hotel. The hotel is located at the top of a hill overlooking a charming little fishing town called Ferragudo. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess Luisa, who was so friendly. She ran the hotel very well and only had a small team of friendly staff. The hotel is clean and has a very relaxed vibe (we didn’t see any children). Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. If you need beach towels you can hire them from the hotel for €10. In the reception you can help yourself to the ‘honesty fridge’ for beers, wine, soft drinks and coffee all for a very reasonable price. The hotel offers a great pool and has a large entertainment room with a pool table. They also offer yoga classes and massage but we didn’t stay for long enough to try. We were impressed that you can borrow kayaks and snorkelling equipment free of charge too. The hotel has free parking if you are driving, which we highly recommend for the Algarve, as there is so much to see. Ferragudo has some good options for dining and drinking, and the little square is often busy with families, music and a small craft market at the weekend. There are some shops and a pharmacy for everything that you need, just be sure to check opening hours. From Ferragudo you can easily drive to the 7 hanging valleys (a must see), to Portimao for activities and to some of the beautiful beaches, such as Marinha and Cavoeiro - all of which are around...
Read moreThis was our first time in this area of Portugal and we mainly used the hotel as a base for exploring the coast and the countryside/mountain area. That's why we can't comment on the hotel amenities such as fitness room, sauna, rental bikes, books and much more. For longer stays or rainy weather, however, a positive atmosphere is most probably guaranteed. In fact, despite the right, sunny weather, we didn't really lie down at the really beautiful pool just once... But even without sunbathing; what a tastefully designed hotel, beautiful rooms, an incredibly nice and cordial team and - what an incredible view of Ferragudo and Portimão. And at this point, many thanks again to Luisa for her tips for us "foodies" - we enjoyed the recommended restaurants, the food and wine very much! For us - there are a lot of places and hotels that we have seen and that we are not eager visiting them another time. However, in the case and for this place it's different - gladly again at any time. Ferragudo and One2Seven are definitely in the bucket for our next trip to...
