Vila Castelo — Hotel in Lagoa

This accommodate came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. ||||The communication from booking to heading home was spot on.||||We stayed in room 15 which was very spacious with twin and double rooms downstairs and a well equipped kitchen, dinning area and lounge on the first floor. We had three different outside spaces. Wifi was strong throughout. It was incredibly clean with comfy beds (ours had a topper on) I loved it because it felt individually decorated and a home from home.||||The pool area was fabulous not too large and a great bar area, they offered us towels and we set a tab up each day. ||||Staff were so friendly we felt very welcome and nothing was to much. It is one big family feel.||||We were 5 minutes to a lovely beach, try Club Nau for Sushi, and 5 minutes to the town. ||||The town was amazing so pretty, ask Alice where to eat she seriously knows the best places. She also has great recommendations on where to visit such as a snorlong trip. ||||One thing to be aware of is most places only take cash, there are lots of ATM's including one at reception. ||||In conclusion this is a very traditional accommodation located perfectly in a traditional fishing village, highly recommended. Well we were so happy to be able to travel again, we could of picked anywhere but we longed to return to somewhere we loved and felt welcome and knew there were good covid measures in places so we looked no further than Vila Castelo where we have visited several times over the past 16 years. Like every visit in the past this one was equally as memorable and we adored every minute of it. We stayed in townhouse No 1 where we have stayed several times before and as always it was spotless and the view as always amazing||||As always we got a 5 star genuine welcome from Alice, Sergio and all the team who are just fantastic and a pleasure to be around, such lovely people. Alice & Sergio work very hard to ensure their guests enjoy this lovely complex and their beautiful village and surroundings. We have visited Vila Castelo Traditional for many years and are booked for 2020. Our daughter has enjoyed visiting from 18mths of age and calls it her Portugese home. As hosts Alice and Sergio are first class and are ablerly supported by the most friendly of staff you will ever encounter. Location is excellent, minutes from superb beaches and a ten minute walk from the village centre comprising of a great selection of restaurants to suit all tastes.
