Pakwan Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Lagos

My husband and I returned home to Praia da Luz a few months ago after 2 years abroad and we were ecstatic to discover the opening of Pakwan restaurant, a real gem of an addition in the heart of our town.

Since we have plenty of amazing things to say about Pakwan we should definitely begin with the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Each and every member has taken it upon themselves to make you feel as if you were an extended member of their own family which creates a wonderfully genuine experience. Their dedication to building a personal relationships with clientele, whether you live in Luz full time or just passing through, is a fabulous departure from most Indian restaurants where you are rudely rushed into ordering so they can get you out and seat the next customer.

"Ask and you shall receive" is definitely the motto at Pakwan since the staff is always eager to satisfy every request.

All the dishes we have tried thus far are absolutely delicious. The perfect balance between fresh ingredients and the authentic flavors of India is remarkable. Their presentation of these dishes is also precious. Roses carved out of beetroot, emerald and ruby ​​​​spices coat the barbecued surface of meats while fresh vegetables and fragrant sauces enrich the composition culminating in a triumph of colors worthy of a painting.

The love and attention to detail by the chefs can be perceived in every dish which is an orchestra of colors, scents and aromas that open up your senses. In just one bite you will be elevated from your chair and transported to the temples of the sacred heritage of India. The vibration that emanates from each single recipe is transformed into prana, intense life force, and in return an extraordinary amount of energy crowns the dining experience. Your whole body is awakened at Pakwan and soul will resonate in harmony with the cosmos.

Since the first time we stepped foot in Pakwan we can't seem to get enough and try to indulge ourselves in their deliciousness at least once a week. After having dined in so many Indian restaurants around the world we can safely say that Pakwan is hands down the best in Portugal.

If you're on vacation and decided to visit the Algarve, Luz might be a little off the beaten path. We can definitely promise you that a journey to Pakwan is worth the trip and will make your holidays even more...

Although I go to a lot of Indian restaurants and love the food, I have to say that our food was the best I’ve ever eaten. We were recommended this place by friends who ate there loads when on their hols. Although there wasn’t many people eating in the place at the time as it was around 9pm when we sat down, don’t be fooled. Food was just delicious - even though I was full, I just wanted to finish my food as I know I won’t taste as good again. The guy that served us couldn’t have been nicer- felt everything was made from scratch as we were very specific with what we liked and also, with what we weren’t too keen on. Even our kids who are a little fussy, loved their food. They also tried the paswari and garlic Nan breads for the first time and nothing was left for the adults! Next time I’m in Luz, this is top of my restaurant list!

Pakwan is an exceptional Indian restaurant that serves delicious food with an authentic taste of India. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you are greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The restaurant is also very clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. The staff and the owner are so friendly that we ended up chit chatting for an hour. I and my husband are vegetarian, so we had some starter with 5 types of mixed pakodas, then in main course some garlic naan, mixed veg curry and chole. The food was amazing!! Overall, Pakwan is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Indian cuisine. With delicious food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere, it's the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable...
