We couldn't wait to eat here after hearing about this place. However our expectations fell short on the service. The food, however, was good and we enjoyed it. I spoke with the owner before we dined there and he assured me he had ghee(clarified butter). Just two hours later, as we were seated, he said he "ran out". Not sure if I really believe that but ok, maybe it's true. We were there at lunch (open 12.00-2.30p) and at 2:15, while we were eating, I asked for a bit of raita (yogurt). He looked at his watch and said "it was too late to order". Really? You don't even have to cook yogurt, just whip it and add some cumin, etc. He seemed like he was in a real rush to close at 2:30 even though a few other customers remained. Perhaps he should advertise that he doesn't take orders (except beer!), after 2:00 because they have to close at 2:30! I should have taken my friend's advice and eaten at Saffron which is next door. She told me the food and service was pretty good over there. It's a shame because the food here was good, but the service made it seem like we were doing them a favor by eating there. Not sure I'd go back. Perhaps they will read this and reconsider how to treat clients. Also there are 2 restaurants. This review is for the...
Read moreI ordered online and collected in person. On walking away, I realised they missed the naan. I was told I never ordered on in front of people at busy counter. I said I could show them order but in meantime wanted the naan. He came back after the two men spoke in a language I unfortunately don't speak about it. Said It was their mistake. Then when the naan came I was charged for it after the mix up.
I was too uncomfortable to complain there as I was ashamed of the 'you never ordered one'
When we got to our campsite we found A half sauce Pot, a korma of mainly peas and a I am guessing normal size salad. I had asked for small one and assumed when I explained that was ok (Online you state the biryana is served with mixed vegetable curry - not a watery sauce with no vegetables)
The flavours of the sauces were tasty it's such a shame that the 'vegetables' weren't really mixed mainly peas and a potato and piece of cauliflower. Also that staff did not apologise for their error but embarrassed the customer instead.
We are new to the area, it's a sad first experience and will probably be our last.
I emailed to discuss feedback before reviewing as I like to have the opportunity for privacy but I never...
Read moreWow. What an amazing experience we had last night. Booked there in the day for an outside table. Arrived on time to a full restaurant with our table ready and waiting for us. Staff were very polite and happy food was out of this world. Very authentic As a lover of Indian cuisine you know it’s good when the kids are eating everything put in front of them. Which is unusual for my lot The cauliflower gobi starter was so good my 12 year old ordered another wish I took a photo of it because it looked like a dish that would be on master chef. Anyway. Just thought I’d share this as it needs to be said. Forget the rest and get in there you will not regret it. Thanks for an amazing time guys. Wish you all the best for the future and keep up the good work. Ps. See you later...
