April 15 2024, I, along with 3 others, had an amazing dining experience. We arrived at the restaurant around 6 pm, and we were enthusiastically greeted by a very friendly young man named Luis. Luis sat us at an outdoor table and, with confidence, described in amazing detail the wonderful variety of delicious items on the very creative menu. Each of us ordered a different entree, and we ordered a bottle of the house white wine, which was reasonably priced, quite refreshing and delicious. When the entrees were served by Luis and his associate, they were exquisite and beautiful. The color and freshness of each of these original creations were just mouth watering. I would go so far to say that they were truly an epicurean delight! I and my fellow diners all concurred. All I can say is that these very lovely dishes certainly did not disappoint! I had the grilled sea bass, which was the best I ever had! Luis was very friendly and attentive and very knowledgeable about the complete menu. We all had a marvelous experience, and Luis was instrumental in recommending succulent desserts that were freshly made and equally beyond delicious. This was our first evening in Luz, and Luis really helped make it a magical and unforgettable dinner on a beautiful spring evening. I highly recommend that you go to this amazing restaurant in Luz, Portugal, because it is truly a fabulous restaurant with delicious and original dishes and desserts, not to mention the outstanding service. The prices were very reasonable, and the portions and service, and atmosphere...
Read moreNot worth the hype at all. We visited for dinner on holiday in Algarve going by the reviews seemed worth a try. However, the food was really disappointing both in terms of flavour, preparation and portion size. We ordered the crispy duck salad which was very heavy on the salad portion and had shreds of duck meat of which c30percent was just fat and no meat. Main course was 1) salmon which was well overdone and the meat was shredding rather than smooth and 2) red Thai curry with prawns and monkfish again quite disappointing as it seemed just lots of fully and severely lacked flavour. The portion sizes were small relative to the cost. Interiors are good, although a small restaurant. Service was attentive, however, not sure how relevant since we were the only ones there. The servers asked us thrice for feedback, however, on giving feedback the response was that this is the way it is done and they cannot cater to everybody's needs which seemed quite defensive which...
Read moreIt's been 2 years since our last visit. A Sunday evening at the end of March.
Busy but as it was mother's day but we were able to get a table on spec.
There was a special three course mother's day menu with two cocktails, a bottle of house wine and coffee with a choice of two starters, two mains and two desserts for 49 euro per person.
We tried the sea bream and beef stroganoff both excellent.
Service is friendly and relaxed.
Inside seating preferred in the winter but there are tables outside although they sit on a slope.
Starters and desserts 6 to 10 euro, mains 16 to 26 euro.
Two years ago we paid roughly 60 euro for two courses and drinks, this time the bill was closer to 90.
Jacaranda is a very nice restaurant and definitely worth a visit, even with the higher prices it's...
