Restaurant Atlântico — Restaurant in Lagos

We booked at Atlantico on the last night of our holiday - booking is definitely recommended, as walk ups were being turned away or asked to wait. We used their whatsapp booking function and dealt with Vitaliy, who was very helpful. Though the restaurant is not ideally positioned, on an uneven incline off the promenade. It is close to the sea and very well presented inside and out. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. One of our boys had the burger , the other sirloin steak, which they both loved and said were their favourite meals of the holiday (which is saying something in Luz!) My wife and I shared the Cataplana, which was a real treat and we'd definitely recommended to seafood lovers. A special mention to our waiter, Denis, who was very attentive and professional during our visit and was helpful with our decisions when ordering the food. We would thoroughly recommend dining here and will return on our next visit...

So…. The food was really good. We ordered the arroz de peixe e marisco, the sea bass as well as grilled chicken. The appetizer was the garlic and Piri Piri shrimp and the seafood soup. The appetizers were absolutely amazing and would recommend either one. The grilled chicken was the usual Portuguese fair. The sea bass was phenomenal. The seafood and fish rice (arroz de peixe e marisco) although not the best I’ve had was good as well. I believe sometimes as far as seasoning restaurants stick to a safer amount of flavour so as not to upset all the travellers from outside the country with palettes that don’t necessarily handle spice well but again I’d recommend the...

Great food with impeccable service.

We loved it so much that we ended up eating at this little restaurant every night of our stay at Luz.

You can find both meat and fish dishes - perfectly seasoned - and inclusive of yummy vegetables (the sweet potatoes in the octopus, the onions confit in the cod, the cauliflower puree in the sea bass, and the prunes in the duck were to die for).

I wish we stayed longer to try out more items on the menu.

We eat early so we never had issues finding a table but I would recommend booking if you plan to come later than 19.00. It gets crowded quickly.
