SOOO, we made reservations at 17h for dinner at 20h for a specific table by the window (wich you can slide open so you have the same feeling as outside but when the wind pickus up and it gets cooler you can close it). I made the reservation because of a special occasion with my wife the reservation was made with waiter A who took the tablet and marked the table for us. When we arrived waiter B designated us at a random table inside away from the window. I saw the table we made reservations at was taken. So slightly annoyed i told the waiter i made the reservation at the window because of a special romantic occasion 3h before in the restaurant itself with waiter A. Apperantly Waiter B was in charche and he liked to show it. Not even apologising he said i dont take reservations by table you can go sit there. Even more slightly annoyed i pointed out the waiter A who made the reservation though he couldnt care less and said we could go sit at a table near the entrance to the terras right next to the kitchen. Slightly more infuriated because of his ignorance, arrogant attitude and unwillingness to find a fair solution is asked if waiter A could explain this. This person Apoligised himself and said immediatly he would find a solution, wich he did. Waiter A found us a table outside with sea/beachview, the only downside was the colder wind near evenings end.

The food was good, we ordered the restaurants speciality octopus with sweet patato.

Waiter A came serving us apoligising again and making sure we had a plesant evening. He brought us the desertmenu and said we could have a free dessert. waiter C came to take the order though and was confused so he called the manager waiter B who VERY reluctantly agreed to the free dessert. When we got the bill from waiter C there was one dessert free and one charged. When i said to my wife the charged one i think Waiter A saw my face in the distance and litterally rushed to the register having a discussion with waiter C & B and printed a new ticket with both desserts free.

Thank god for waiter A for somewhat saving our evening and beeing friendly, humane and acting with common sense.

Apart from that the food was very good (i recommend the flan dessert and the octopus with sweet patato) If you dont make reservations and just take a table to eat i imagine this place is very comfortable and tasty.

No need to say i was a little dissapointed with the arrogance and ignorance of certain ppl...

This restaurant in its stunning location is a tourist trap. Beautiful scenery but the food was terrible and the service even worse. The garlic bread to start was so good we ordered 2 more servings and had high hopes for the main course. However… my mussels turned up cold, I asked them to be heated and when they returned they were the same temperature. I didn’t want to complain so started tucking in to discover a thick black hair. I immediately asked for this to be taken away, no apology was offered and they simple took the plate away whilst giving me dirty looks. My partners rack of lamb was ordered medium, it turned up raw so we asked for this to be cooked some more, when they did so it was fine to eat. However my Sister in law had a burger which on first impression looked ok, it wasn’t until she reached the middle that she realised it was not cooked all the way through and was in-fact raw at the centre. The potatoes on my son in laws plate were so undercooked, he nearly bent the knife trying to cut through them. When the plates were collected I politely said my mussels had a hair in and no apology was offered, the rest of the burger was inedible as it was raw and the potatoes were uneaten because they were undercooked. This was meet with, don’t eat the food and then complain. We explained that we were happy to pay for what we had eaten but we’re not happy to pay for the whole burger or the potatoes. The waitress actually laughed in my face and said the food was good, she then went to fetch the manager who I thought maybe a little more understanding but she came over declaring that the food was great and the service was also outstanding. Before we knew it we were ambushed by a waiter who came over shouting you are taking the pi*s! If I hadn’t been there to witness this myself, I wouldn’t have believed it! With that my partner stood up and asked him not to swear at us and give us the bill which we would pay for as we didn’t want any trouble. The bill came and the mussels were removed but everything else was left on there, we paid 170€ and then left to order a Chinese. An absolutely disgraceful place! AVOID THIS TOURIST TRAP...

First of all the building, grounds and scenery are all stunning. Have visited Luz a few times and had walked past this restaurant a few times.

Booked for a diverse family group of 5 people aged 16-73 with very varied likes/dislikes.

Every person (bar my mother who was not feeling her best) absolutely loved all 3 courses. My seabass ceviche starter was phenomenal and my daughter and her friend said the garlic bread with cheese was the best they'd ever had - high praise indeed. My kids both had risotto (one filet mignon and one prawn) and again my daughter said it was the best meal she'd ever had - and she's one of the picky eaters. My son ploughed through his risotto then finished my mums burger - which was again proclaimed as the 'best burger he'd ever had'

Every plate was cleaned before 4 desserts were ordered. the chocolate mousse and brownies were firm favourites.

All in all every aspect from wine to starter to main to dessert was all brilliant..

Weirdly some of the locals including my brother who lives there had said that it was not very good for food or service so I looked at reviews and went for it. Am SO glad we did. We all revelled in telling my brother and the other locals about how amazing the whole meal was. Pricing is possibly high compared to other restaurants but the food and location is more than worth it.

If you are in Luz make sure you visit this place - great setting, great...

Unmatched view and setting... this place is strategically located on a castle with ample seating, both inside and outside. The food was excellent... Truly a great culinary experience... Kudos to the chef. The men's washroom was filthy and stunk of urine, which was all over the floor... It appears they do not do regular checks or cleaning... I used the washroom twice with about 2 hours in-between, and things just appeared to get worse. The service was also subpar for the caliber of the restaurant... Our wine order was missed, there was confusion between the staff helping us (they seemed to think the "other one" was going to get something done", table not cleared on a timely manner, and despite requests for desert menus, they would not come... The waiter was nice but appeared to have too many tables and the help staff (bussers, etc) kept running around, looking very frazzled and with no time to answer basic questions when asked)... When serving the plates, the server hit my daughter's head with a large wooden board (similar to a cutting board) and barely apologized... Because she was rushing... The food wasn't quite placed on the table, but sort of thrown there... If the restaurant focused a bit on the small details and actually held their staff a a certain level of professionalism, they be world class... For now, great food, great setting, poor service and untidy facilities...

This is a beautiful restaurant both inside and out. The inside is old with a lot of beautiful stonework, wood, chandeliers, and other lamps. Almost like the main home on a hacienda. The outside is a lovely, large patio setting overlooking the sea. Sunset was beautiful in September. It has large canvas, triangular sheets suspended above to provide shade and mood. The staff were welcoming and were able to keep up with our gathering of 12 people, as well as to allow us to separate our purchases into 6 bills. Staff were able to guide my celiac wife into appropriate gluten-free options and these were also identified on the menu which has interesting and innovative choices. My wife chose the roasted octopus in a in a Provençal sauce, with caramelized sweet potatoes, apple and vegetables. It was beautifully displayed for her but unfortunately she found it chewy and tough. For my part, I chose the salted cod with a chorizo crust and chickpea purée, potatoes 'a murro' and 'à brás' vegetables which was pretty good. We had mixed reactions in our group with opinions varying from ‘very good’ to ‘hmmm’. In conclusion, I wouldn’t write this place off and it is an attractive option in the small town of Luz.
