[ENG] The experience at this establishment was poor and it does not represent the city of Lamego. The initial contact at the terrace in the central square area was about the possibility of having dinner and watching a football match. The answer was yes, and when it was time for dinner and I asked to change to the channel, at which point I was about to have a possible dessert, they said they did not have the channel... Resulting in me asking for the bill immediately. From the beginning to the end, the person in charge of the terrace always seemed unwilling to serve us. It took several minutes for them to deliver a food menu, we later requested a drinks menu, then they asked what we would like to drink without first being given the menu, they were going to serve us chilled red wine without asking for permission, when we arrived the dishes had been wrong for the table and as far as the food is concerned, it is far below the prices charged. A steak à casa, which being "à casa" is synonymous with a special touch, a slice of ham, an egg, a special sauce... It was a steak smothered in frozen fries, rich in oil and garlic, and omoresu in strips that you have to look for on the plate. As we are a country rich in gastronomy, and considering the North as one of the best areas to take advantage of it, this experience was an example not to follow. Maybe some other dishes would be better for the experience, the "à casa" was not and I believe they souldn't be proud of the way they represent it. In addition to the food, the communication between the staff on the terrace and inside does not give the place the best atmosphere. Having experience in this type of service, I believe that there were not enough active tables for the flaws demonstrated.

Hope they...

Profirio was a recommendation by a local taxi driver when we asked for a restaurant serving traditional Portuguese dishes and wine and it absolutely delivered. We arrived late on a thursday night and everything happened with expediency. From being sat to having our first drink served, order taken and promptly fed. Perhaps my only criticism, and I'm reaching here, is that when we asked for red wine, a bottle was bought for us without seeing the list. We probably would've spent more BUT, the wine served was more than sufficient and of good quality so we remain happy. We shared the mixed sausages and mixed grill main. Exactly what we were after. This is clearly a local favourite as the customers all seemed to have friendly interactions with the staff and proprietors. This is always reassuring as a visitor to this quaint and surprisingly stunning town. Very happy to have been given this...

In the picture, the food looked really good but when we went there it's another story. We ordered our everything was fine but we notice that the other client got bread on their table. We asked why we didn't get one? The excuse was they had to cut more bread and they would bring us as soon as possible. But we never get it and a few minutes later I noticed they I had a box with bread in the balcony... I asked gently if my husband could have a Fransaziha without pork meat. I understand if it's not possible (in an other restaurant nearby they did with chicken) but they don't need to be rude with us and could suggest something else. So my husband ordered a bitoque. The French fries wasn't even home made, he had a spoon of rice and the meat was hard. For the price (who's expensive) I don't recommend this restaurant and the service wasn't even that good....

Nice place that the locals seem to be pulled to too in Lamego. We had starters of mixed sausages and garlic bread.. Our daughter loved the gb... I liked the black pudding! Husband and I had pichana steak. Bit fatty for him but fine for me. Waiter said it came with fries but it didn't, just rice but also side of black beans which were yummy. Daughter loved her burger (comes without bun) and the fact she had crisps and rice served on her plate! We asked for a glass of wine, more of a mere splash was served and they didn't tell us or show us what it was. Acceptable though. Service was OK. No need to dress up, simple, honest fare and nice to find somewhere the locals flock to. If driving, park for free up by the market, 5 min walk away.

Food was very nice, service had nothing to highlight. We ate here as it was the only place that seemed open on a Sunday night. Pork was quite nice and they allowed me to change the potatoes for fries. Desert was not very good to be honest. Removing one point because we got served an inedible bread that we got charged for and we never asked for, reject it if they want to serve it to you.

We had a dinner in this place. We were looking for a Portuguese restaurant and decided to choose this one. In the dinner time it was quite full, out food was ok, octopus have been prepared perfectly, wine was good as well. Good place for dinning, just they could work on environment to make it more cozy, cold white lamps doesn't create cozy feeling.
