Tucked away in one of Lisbon’s quieter corners, IF IF IF isn’t just a bar —it’s a transportive experience into the heart of Georgian hospitality. I was flabbergasted reading negative reviews whose authors were bitching and mouning about high prices, tiny place and limited menu. Yes, it’s small—you likely noticed that the moment you walked in. Yes, the prices are a bit higher—clearly marked on every bottle. And no, this isn’t your average tasca. It’s something more intentional, more personal. This isn’t a fast-food stop—and honestly, it’s not about the food first. Come for the Georgian wine—natural, expressive, and full of soul—and stay for the atmosphere, which feels like you’ve wandered into the home of old friends who’ve just unlocked their grandmother’s wine cellar. And when, after a few glasses, you find yourself wanting a bite, the hosts will happily prepare something for you. Whether it’s khinkali dumplings, khachapuri with real suluguni cheese, or churchkhela, each dish is there to complement the wine, not compete with it. As for the prices? They reflect what you're really paying for: authentic Georgian wine handpicked by experts—the owners, who might tell you a story about the wine you're drinking or the village where the recipe was born. IF IF IF isn’t trying to be everything to everyone. It’s trying to be unforgettable to those who appreciate the beauty of doing a few things really, really well. For anyone who values authenticity over abundance, and quality over quantity, IF IF IF is...
Read morePositives: The owner is extremely kind and welcoming, and serves with a smile. The quality of the food and the wine is excellent. The restaurant interior is very pretty, if not a little cramped.
Negatives: Oh my goodness, the prices. 10€ a glass for the wine?! I wouldn't have minded if there had been a drinks menu, but there was nothing. When we received the final total, it was a complete shock to all of us. There was no formal receipt containing the breakdown of the cost of each individual item, which truly gave the impression of being ripped off. Also, the waiting times were ridiculous. We had to wait 2 hours for our food, despite another table of people who arrived AFTER us being served first. The khachapuri is not the traditional khachapuri that you would expect, rather it's the significantly smaller "guruni" (whilst the owner did warn us of this, it was a disappointment nonetheless).
Overall, whilst there were undoubtedly positive things that I could take from the experience, I left the establishment unfulfilled and feeling as though I'd fallen into a...
Read moreFantastic experience at this small, authentic, truly Georgian wine-and-snack bar. Thought you feel natural georgian traditional hospitality the If if if has very modern concept based on selection of the best, sometimes unique wines by the best Georgian producers. As I understand the owners (two very knowledgeable young professionals) has direct contacts with the producers. So for some wines If if if - is the only place to be found. To accompany your wine selection are very traditional (and delicious) Georgian delicacies: dumplings (I had with mushrooms but my friend had with meat), stuffed grape leaves (also there are vegetarian and meat-lovers varieties) and what was new for me - hachapuri (georgian grilled cheese in the blancket). Not your official hundred-courses dinner, but more than enough for nice evening in a very cosy, friendly, warm atmosphere. I’m sure that was definitely one of ours many more visits. Thank...
