I'm told this was one of the first vegetarian restaurants in Lisbon. Downstairs is the restaurant and upstairs a sort of a Tibetan cultural centre where they also have yoga classes.
We ate lunch in the conservatory area, as the weather wasn't good enough to eat outside. The menu is vegan/vegetarian, vegan dishes clearly marked. We had pappadums, spring rolls and samosas to start, all perfectly made and the waitress brought us a homemade spicy chutney over, it was delicious. For mains my colleague had goat cheese momos and i had the tofu and mango curry, which was excellent. Both were served with rice and steamed beetroot topped with a sort of chimichurri style sauce, which sounds weird but was surprisingly good, and paired incedibly well with the mango in the curry. As every main came out with the same beetroot side, i'm going to say that pairing was a fluke, but one i'll use in future!
The dessert menu was good, but lacking in vegan options so i chose not to have anything. My colleague had apple crumble and ice cream - that famous asian dessert 😂. But then the waitress told me that they had a banana cream pie as dessert of the day that was vegan, and i caved. Thank goodness i did - it was suberb!
Staff are lovely, and the atmosphere was peaceful and serene. There's a car park a few doors down from the restaurant.
I loved it and will definitely go back as theee were many more things on the menu...
Read moreWe went to the restaurant mainly because of the good reviews and because we wanted to check out tibetian food :)
I want to stress that the overall experience was really good, - the service was very attentive and kind and the atmosphere lovely!
Nevertheless, we came for the food. My boyfriend had a curry with hard boiled eggs and I had the mango curry. In conclusion, the food was OK but nothing special. We felt like it could have had more flavor/spices and the portion was kinda small when it comes to the price-performance ratio. We both came with medium to high appetite, had a starter and a main course and I for my part was kinda full but my boyfriend was still a bit hungry.
I wouldn't that it's not a good place to dine in gernal but overall the food wasn't to our liking which is a highly subjektive...
Read moreWe had a wonderful dinner at Os Tibetanos. The ambiant and decoration are cosy and elegant at the same time (we were on the covered terrasse, which was warmed up). We had delicious spring rolls and estonishing tibetan steamed bread for entrees. For main meal, we had noodles with vegetables and seitan (nothing too special but very good) and a mango and tofu curry (more tofu than mango, but still very good). I ordered a yogi ginger and lemon tea, but there was none left. The waiter then prepared a fresh one with real ginger and lemon rand! I really appreciated that. I recommend the dolma pie, which is a light chocolate and maroon kind of mousse on a biscuity...
