Let’s get one thing straight — The Matador Pub doesn’t serve food. Why? Because you don’t need food when the atmosphere alone can sustain you for hours. This is a pub so good, your stomach forgets it’s hungry and just wants another round.

Walk in and you’re instantly disarmed — not just by the warm welcome or the buzz of laughter bouncing off the walls, but by the girls behind the bar. These aren’t just bartenders. No, sir. They are sublime sirens, mermaids of myth, luring men (and women) to their inevitable doom with killer smiles, quicker pours, and just enough sass to leave you questioning your life choices… in the best possible way. You’ll come for a pint and leave wondering if you’ve joined a cult — a cult of craic and charisma.

And presiding over this temple of temptation? None other than David Daly and Michael Vincent of Berkshire Hathaway — two gentlemen so effortlessly charming, they should be licensed. Watching them work a room is like watching poetry read itself. They don’t just drink here — they elevate the whole establishment. If pubs had patron saints, David and Michael would be carved into stained glass with a pint in hand and a property brochure in the other.

Just back from the marina you will find a little gem of a bar. A traditional Portuguese tavern. The staff are really friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere in the bar at night. I sampled port and traditional Portuguese liqueurs, something I would not normally do but it was great experience for a guy who usually only drinks beer.
