This is a lovely atmosphere and the staff is nice. My complaint is that there is no notification that this place only accepts debit cards that are Portuguese. We have a debit card from France that is part of an international network. I have used it throughout the EU with never had a problem but when we paid, they refused to take it. Not cool. Checked the menu nothing. I paid cash but was frustrated. The drinks and the pizza ingredients were fresh, but the crust on the pizza appeared to be a flatbread and not a yeast crust. Ordered pizza at 1320 by 2 I’ve approached the waiter to ask how long would it be as we have been waiting. The waiter smiled and said that he mentioned they were busy ( well not to me) he advised we can have our food on the house. Returning to our table another 10 minutes passed and still no sign of our food. People who came 20 min after us received their pizza ! After 1 hour wait for one small and one large pizza we just left as hungry as we arrived...

Meine Frau und ich waren im Rahmen eines längerfristigen Portgal-Urlaubs bislang zweimal im familiengeführten Restaurant OléPizza unmittelbar neben unserem Hotel Loulé Jardim Hotel, der ersten Adresse des gemütlichen Städtchens. Wir haben sowohl Pizza Mare als auch Pasta OléOlé (Mischung von 4 Pastasorten, überbacken) wie auch Salate probiert. Die Gerichte waren hervorragend und vom Preis -/Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Insbesondere der Patron des Hauses ist überaus zuvorkommend, sehr freundlich - und nicht kleinlich (Espresso oder Vino Porto auf's Haus). Er hat uns gut beraten (wir sprechen zwar Deutsch, Englisch und Französisch, aber eben nicht Portogisisch), nicht nur was das Essen angeht, sondern auch Tipps zum Einkauf, Sehenswürdigkeiten etc. gegeben. Bei OléPizza handelt es sich sicher nicht um einen Gourmet - Tempel, aber wer eine traditionelle Gaststätte mit preiswerten, aber sehr guten Gerichten (inkl. Wein) und sehr sympathischem Personal sucht, ist hier richtig. Wir waren insgesamt sehr positiv überrascht (dass man nicht mit Karte zahlen kann, hat uns zwar ebenfalls überrascht; wenn man als Paar aber in einer Pizzaria für Essen, Salat, Wein und Espresso unter 30€ bleibt, wird man das i.d.R. auch ohne...
