We were looking for a place in Quarteira to go for some pizza for the kids. The food was OK, but the service was horrible to say the least. Going inside the restaurant, there was a waiter clearing a table, and I said good evening, could we get a table for 5. No words were spoken and he just left us there. Then a waitress came, and finally we were able to sit down. First thing she said " we are not taking orders, as the kitchen is extremely busy", and she left us there. When she passed by us 15 mins later, I asked if we could at least order some drinks, the reply was "well, if you want drinks, might as well take your food order, even though the kitchen is extremely busy". At this point I was starting to get scared to order anything else. When the food came, my order was switched with someone else's, when I called this out, the waiter took the plate away, no sorry, nothing, and when I tried to ask how long for my order, he just used his hands to say wait. One of the children then wanted lemonade. We asked for it, and 15 minutes later, nothing. The child asked about it and the answer the waitress gave to the child: "can't you hear the machine in the kitchen? That means you have to wait". At this point, I just wanted to yell at her, were it not for the other patrons there complaining as well. The service was an experience from hell. The food is ok, average, nothing to rave about, and the place itself is just an average place. If you are in the area, avoid this restaurant, unless you don't mind a rude service that talks to you as they are doing you a favour. As for the food, it is not worth putting up with rude waiters to get it. There are plenty of...
Read moreThe food was alright, BUT the customer service was terrible, TERRIBLE. This day, on Wednesday, there were 3 servers at least and their service was very bad. First we saw the small hairs on the garlic bread that they served, but when we called them about this they didn't even resolve this problem, I would at least expect a compensation or something as it's a quite famous restaurant I see, but no, the girl server just made a face and walked away...
Then there's this guy, tall, skinny and seems older than the rest, he was the worst! He was pretty rude with us Chineses, just because we took a longer time to order (decide) he said a sort of "demora uma manhã" which he meant as we would take a whole morning to order. He was pretty arrogant as he knew that I knew Portuguese and said it in front of my family and I. When the guy gave us a drink he didn't even take away our cups and we almost had no space to put our plates, plus they didn't even give us straws.
More importantly the food waited for so long, we had an appointment nearby the place but we were late as we had to wait and we ate quickly. This would probably the worst restaurant that I had been.
Lastly I wanted to say, that the food there was alright, however takes very long time to make. We won't come back again because their service was bad and when they smiled to other Portuguese customers I figured out that they look down on us Chinese. I will never come back to...
Read moreThis is the best restaurant in Quarteira! We went there 3 times on our holiday and were never disappointed! The food is absolutely fantastic, the portions are very filling, and the price is very fair indeed. We were a party of 6 that had roughly 3 or 4 starters, 6 main meals and a couple of drinks each (pints, wine and coke zero) and the bills ranged between €125 and €146. Anywhere else, especially in Vilamoura, we would have paid between €200 and €230 for these types of meals, and we would have left half starved still! This is really top-notch food. Try the lasagna, the seafood rice for one person, and the Mama Mia special house pasta dish. The mushroom ravioli was delicious too, but not quite as filling. Beware of the calzone though: it's big enough to feed 2 adults! But it's delicious as well. Lastly, the garlic pizza bread and the pizzas themselves were truly out if this world! And yes, I DID sample them all, which is why I'm dreading getting back on the scale when I...
