Tandoori Flames Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Loulé

Pro: -taste was pretty decent. -View of the beach if you were to dine-in.

Cons: -the portion is a joke; tiny! -price is a rip off -wasn't fresh as mentioned on the website -rice wasn't included -The restaurant was empty when I ordered but it took ca. 40minutes to get my order.

As an South Asian myself, who cooks Indian cuisine and eats out, and living in Scandinavia where food are generally expensive, I found this place a total tourist trap/ rip off. I didn't mind the price at first, then I noticed that the rice wasn't included. I got the prawn dish (Take away) which was 13.75€ and paid 2.25€ for the rice. I got 4 shrimps (frozen, not fresh as mentioned on the website) which were halved and dipped in batter and fried (to make it look bigger than it was), then prepared into the dish i ordered. 4 shrimps for 13.50euro is expensive even for Scandinavian standards not alone the Quarteira standard. I also got 2 butter chicken dishes, which were 9.75€ per dish. The portion was a total joke. I kid you not, one had 6 pieces of chicken (ca. 1.0 x 1.5cm) and the other had 8 small pieces. And once again, the rice wasn't included. The sauce was abundant. We didn't mind the price, we were on vacation and we know some places are pricey for no good reason. I was fine with that, but we wanted a regular portion of food because we were hungry after having a long travel with the whole family. We were just hungry and wanted a decent meal, instead we got this. Such a great disappointment.

In April 2019 my family of 3 visited this place 3x in our stay in quarteira. The atmosphere is extremely relaxed, the staff members were fantastic and always on hand. However the main reason we returned, the food was exceptional. Fantastically presented and tased amazing.

Fast forward 5x years to April 2024. again found our family of 4x staying in albufeira. We hired a car and drove to quarteira, only to find ourselves sat at the same table in the tandoori flame.

We found things where just as we remembered. The staff spent time looking after us. The children were expecially made to feel welcome. The atmosphere and food was excellent.

We can't recommend this place enough. You will not be disappointed. Its a fantastic restaurant and definitely deserves all the success it obviously receives. Me and my family will definitely be returning to the algarve, so we will most certainly return to...

After visiting with friends I must say that I am undecided on whether I would return. The food was awesome, without a doubt fantastic however from the get go the lady taking our order was pushing us to order more and more, throughout the meal we were approached 3 times “is your meal ok, would like anything else” just constantly trying to sell you more. I have a 3 star for this reason, we probably won’t return, our meal was £160 so unfortunately we will look for another restaurant when we return. Sorry guys, too pushy.
