Myself and my partner decided to splurge on tonight's dinner as we are on our honeymoon, we had such high expectations on this. We decided to go with their Nombre Buffet. It was such a disappointment to say the least. When we came in there were a few tables occupied, but after 30 minutes, a big table arrived. First, the side dishes were brought to us consisting of fried banana, fries, rice, beans, greens - the fries were so salty. So on our next order od side dishes we asked for no salt, side dishes didn't come out, roughly 20mins before the manager then asked us again what side dishes did we want again at last after 15 minutes (on top of the 20 minutes) the side dishes came. When the big table arrived, our table was completely forgotten about. The two guys that were going around with the meat, just passed our table without offering us any of the meat - there were meat left on the sticks. When they have noticed that we were getting frustrated, they then came to us twice and then forgot about us again. At this point we have been at the restaurant for more than an hour, barely tried the meats that was included in our menu. We got fed up and just paid. We told the the waitress about our experience and she was saying about a woman in the kitchen not being familiar with where things are - but there were food at the counter that were ready to be served that no one was serving. The woman in the kitchen isnt the one serving the meat either. So I don't know how that was the reason the service being appaling. We spent roughly €50pp, therefore expected something great - considering the good reviews we saw before coming. I recommend, you either go during off peak time (early or late dinner possibly) or have a big table - you definitely wont be forgotten, or else you will just have a very frustrating and...
Read moreLet me preface this review by stating that the staff were absolutely lovely, and the Sangria was very good. The key issue we had was the food. I explained the problems to the manager, who very kindly comped one of the steaks, but I still believe an honest and fair review is required.
The restaurant suffers from “McDonald’s Syndrome” - whilst there is certainly room for artistic liberties when it comes to advertising/images of food, the actual meat was just plain sad.
The chef put the ‘Teak in Steak’, as our medium rare Picanha’s were comparable to hockey pucks. Without the accompanying pile of salt, it would have been inedible. The fries were crispy, yet unseasoned (unfortunately used to this as a Brit, but doesn’t make it anymore acceptable). The accompanying beans and rice were bland.
Considering we had just been to a nearby bar with incredible Empanadas, it really twisted the blade and caused us to metaphorically bleed, (ironically) quite unlike the steaks. Despite the lovely staff, it’s incredibly difficult to defend an Argentinian steakhouse unable to successfully grill an Argentinian steak.
Whilst I truly believe the manager when she said that she would have made the chef’s re-fire the whole table’s order had we had immediately brought it to her attention, I do not believe that those steaks would have actually been any good....
Read moreFood was amazing, cocktails best on the strip. We had plans to return the next day for lunch but the whole experience was ruined by a waiter with a terrible attitude that shouldn't be working in hospitality. Our mains steaks were served at different times so I had to eat cold food as I wanted to eat with my partner. As the waiter brought some sides I tried to explain that meat needs to be served at the same time and to my shock he started arguing with me telling me he is just a server. Im used to better communication between floor and kitchen in my hospitality experience. So I added that it's also good practice not to argue with the customers at which point he raised his voice at me and said something which I didn't understand but his tone was very clear that he was insulting me. Disgusted honestly and I feel bad for the other staff that have to work with this guy as everyone else was lovely. Unfortunately, you are only as strong as your weekest memeber and this guy spoils your whole setting. Not to mention that we weren't approached by anyone after him to offer a next drink or clean away dishes. Locals seemed to enjoy themselves so maybe it's that type of an establishment where...
