We visited Saffron Mantra on the 11th August as a family of 12 while on holiday to celebrate a special birthday, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
Communication with the owner beforehand was excellent – he made sure our needs were met and even arranged for a birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful touch. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to our table, which was ready and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself was spotless, stylish, and very comfortable, with air conditioning that was especially welcome during Portugal’s heatwave.
Service was prompt and professional throughout. Our orders were taken quickly, drinks arrived without delay, and the food followed soon after. Every dish was exceptional – packed with authentic flavours, beautifully presented, and generous in portion size. The food was so good that, despite our best efforts, we couldn’t finish it all and had to ask for takeaway boxes!
What really made the evening special was the hospitality. After our meal, we were introduced to the rest of the owner’s family, who were just as welcoming and engaging, especially with our children. It made the whole experience feel very personal and memorable.
Overall, Saffron Mantra delivered on every level – excellent food, excellent service, and a genuinely warm and caring atmosphere. We couldn’t have asked for more and would highly recommend it to anyone...
Read moreBeing a Indian living in Portugal now and previously living in Germany for 50 years and owner of top class Indian Resturants in Germany, I must say that this resturant is the far most the best Indian Resturants in the Algarve.I have tried most of the resturants in Algarve but Saffron Mantra is the most authentic North Indian Food Resturant.I could not give 5 Stars for the ambient, because it lacks the atmosphere of 5 Stars resturant.I have been to this resturant more than 10 times and the food quality, especially the Garlic and Butter Nans are simply the best as well as Curries and vegetarian dishes. It’ worth taking trouble of driving down to Loulė and there are ample of parking places available just opposite the resturant.
In summer it’s great to sit outside on the Terrace and enjoy your meals.
Highly recommended , but don’t forget to tell waiter about your spiciness of food.Mild,Medium or Hot while...
Read moreMy god that was delicious 😋 We went there as a very mixed group of eight English people from full Vegans to meat eaters and everyone was delighted with their meals, the service, the atmosphere and the prices (and parking 7pm Thursday).
The thing for me as a Vegan (yes, I know, we always shoehorn that in 😂) was that all the vegan options were very clearly marked so no ambiguity there.
Only two disappointments (there has to be something, right?) was that I don’t have an endless stomach to have tried more of the main courses and that I was too full even to look at the dessert menu. To be honest even though I’ll be going back as often as I can I don’t know if I’ll ever get to the desserts but the starters, poppadom and pickle tray are also...
