Pop's Steak House — Restaurant in Lourinhã

I have been eating at this restaurant for the 1.5 yrs and it’s always been excellent. I went there recently with a friend because we live in the neighborhood and I turned to her and said I think it must’ve changed hands. No longer are you greeted when you walk up. The last two times I’ve been there’s a waitress leaning against a counter on her cell phone- both times - she doesn’t even look up when you get to the front door. The food was not the same quality that it has been. I got a take out order of ribs this week and the food was barely warm and it had just been prepared. I live less than 2 minutes away, so it should’ve still been piping hot. I asked if I could have some extra sauce and they charged me .50 for about a half tsp for my ribs. I won’t be back and my neighbor that I went with won’t be going back either. It’s really too bad because they were definitely a 5 star restaurant before. Nice place with friendly service but I was not impressed by the food. I was very eager to have the T-bone but unfortunately it was not available which was a first disappointment. I had some type of sirloin instead which was quite OK but nothing really special. The second bummer was the fact that they pre-cut the meat they serve you. Call me stupid but that is something I will never understand. Because of that the meat will cool down so quickly that it is completely cold before you finish the plate. I really hate it. For somebody who is not a big meat lover, I loved the food here. At the start we had a bread basket, the bread is really soft and delicious, they also have one type of bread with chorizo in it. I ussualy do not really like chorizo because of the strong flavour but in the bread it is perfect, For dinner, my husband and I had the beef on a hot stone. This is for 2 persons, which is fun to do and there is plenty of food for 2 persons. You can cook your own meat and it comes with a delicious side, we had sweet potato fries.
