We decided to visit this place due to the nice reviews on Trip Advisor. We sat down and once we looked at the menu, we were a bit surprised with the prices (quite expensive for the standards), but well when you're on holidays... We decided to order 2 natural juices (2,5 euros per juice), but as there were some fruits we didn't know we decided to ask (just to be sure), to which the bartender confirmed "Very good! Special fruits from Brazil". We waited for around 20min and still nothing and I kept seeing other people that arrived later get served first. When to ask for our juices and finally the woman behind the bar grabbed 2 packages to what seemed to be "instant juice", put it in the blender, added lots of water and "voila!". Once we tried it, both tasted disgusting (like water with chemicals) and we came back to complain. Not only they were rude, nor gave us the money back, but also said that it is supposed to taste this way and we should have known what we were ordering. I guess "natural juice" has a different meaning in this place. Definitively NOT...

After arriving in Madelena and dining at a few other establishments, it was difficult to find a spot worthy of patronizing. Having found a few places that had fairly bad service, bad food, or both, it was refreshing to finally find O Cinco.

The atmosphere is fantastic. However, it is a fairly small establishment. Luckily, it was not busy, but keep the season and time of day in mind when you visit; there may be a wait. We experienced immediate seating and prompt table service from our waitress, Jessica. Drinks & appetizers within 10 minutes. Main courses within 20 minutes.

Libations were on point. We ordered the local Gin, would recommend. Food wise we ordered the cheese plate, Chicken Francesinha and Kebab Plate. All were fantastic and also highly recommended! We finished our dining experience with coffees and promptly paid at the counter once finished. A smooth experience all around!

If you're in the area, I can confidently recommend putting this place near the top of your...

Food was some of the best we've had on the island! Free wifi too!

Some of the best service too! We went to another few places on the island, days previous, and it took an hour for us to get our food. At Caffe Cinq, it took 15-20 minutes with drinks arriving immediately.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of all the dishes (only caught desert).

I had the Cinq Hamburger. It was delicious, although keep in mind it doesn't come with a side.

My girlfriend had the squid which was tender, well seasoned, and quite good overall.

The other pair in our group shared a Mixed Grilled Platter, which had different grilled meats, fries, and black beans. It was enough for the two of them.

To finish it off, we had a crepe with ice cream. The ice cream seems homemade, because you can see little bits of the vanilla bean in it. The crepe itself was delicious, and very chewy. I would caution you that the crepe is big enough to share. We each had one but it...

Had a nice lunch on the lovely decorated terrace of O Cinco (Café Five). I ordered some falafel, but switched out the fries for vegetables. I guess this confused the kitchen (or the waitress?) somewhat. My order was served correctly, but in stead of the tuna salad that my boyfriend ordered, he got served a tuna steak. Not a problem, the steak was very nice, so no need for complaining. We enjoyed the sangría with passion fruit very much. A refreshing drink on a hot summer day. The wine by the glass was a bit more expensive than we were used to, but the glasses were big. When we got the bill we noticed that the waitress had forgotten to put the two glasses we ordered on our bill. Of course we asked for a correction, but suffice to say, that the service was a bit inattentive. To get to the toilet you have to squeeze yourself through a very small corridor, but the toilet itself was clean.
