I had high hopes for Pizza d’Artista — and while the pizza was definitely tasty, there were a few things that really took away from the experience.
First off, the dough. There’s a lot of it. So much that it feels like you’re eating mostly bread rather than enjoying a balanced pizza. It’s flavorful, yes — but very heavy and overwhelming. Less dough and more of everything else would make a big difference.
Then there’s the tiramisu. Honestly, it was just… strange. Tiramisu is one of those classic desserts that really doesn’t need to be reinvented. The version I tried felt like an unnecessary twist on something that’s already perfect — and sadly, it didn’t taste good at all.
Another major letdown was the discount situation. They advertise a 15% discount if you follow them and tag them in your story, but when it came time to pay, that discount wasn’t applied. Apparently, there’s fine print saying the 15% is per table, not per person — which feels more like a marketing trick than a real offer. It left a bad taste — and not the good kind.
All in all, while the pizza had potential, the experience was disappointing. I’d consider going back if the dough was lighter and the promos were more...
Read moreI had big expectations for this Italian restaurant but got really disappointed. First the border of the pizza was really thick and the dough absolutely rubber, as I was chewing a gum. Don’t expect a crispy pizza. Second the amount of cheese in the pizza and other ingredients was exaggerated. Please remember that less is more. To me, this pizza is far from the pizza you can eat in Italy, and there are Italian restaurantes in Porto with better pizza. Besides this, the fact that you order through a tablet makes the experience not special at all, and very distant and impersonal.
Update: We brought home the leftovers and put them in oven for 5 -8 minutes the next day. The pizza was delicious, much better and no rubber consistency anymore, but crispy. My conclusion is that the pizzas seems cooked from outside when they take them out from oven, however the dough is not cooked enough remaining very heavy and rubber...
Read moreThis place has gone way down hill, and I’ve been many times in the past. They’re using canned mushrooms now, this should tell you everything you need to know. Ordering on the tablet. With so many staff standing around chatting, why not have them serve customers? Very impersonal. No one asked how our meal was. The pizzas have gone from a decent Neapolitan style pizza to really not worth the price. Dough is too thick, way too much toppings. Quality of ingredients has been noticeably cut back. I would classify this as closer to São Paulo style pizza, than anything Italian. There are other better options in Porto now. Don’t subject...
