π "Perfect for Honeymooners & Business Travelers β Exceptional Service & Great Location in Porto!"
During our honeymoon trip to Porto, we stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Matosinhos, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! This hotel is not located in old Porto, but for honeymooners or anyone looking for a peaceful yet well-connected stay, itβs a gem! Just two blocks from the beach, surrounded by great restaurants, cafΓ©s, and shopping spots, it offered the perfect blend of relaxation, convenience, and comfort.
First Impressions & Check-in π¨
β Smooth & Quick Check-in β No long waits, staff was professional and welcoming. β Great Surroundings β Located near beachfront cafΓ©s, restaurants, and shopping spots. β A Thoughtful Welcome! β At check-in, we were offered two glasses of Portoβs famous Port wineβa beautiful way to introduce us to the city!
Room & Comfort π
β Spacious, Clean & Comfortable β The deluxe room was modern, quiet, and had great noise isolation. β Convenient Switch System β Everything from lights to power controls was easily accessible from the bed or entrance. β Iron & Board in Room β A big plus for travelers who need crisp outfits! β Luxurious Bathroom Setup β Divided into three sections: one for the toilet, one for washbasins, and one for the shower. Very premium and well-designed!
Breakfast & Dining π½
β Breakfast Had a Good Variety β Plenty of choices for a great start to the day. π« Limited Meat Options for Indian Travelers β No chicken option, only beef & pork. π« Weekend Breakfast Crowds β On busy mornings, some food shelves were empty when we arrived, which was a bit disappointing.
Service & Hospitality β A Special Experience! π€΅
β Exceptional Staff β Special Thanks to Γris Oliveira! π We had emailed the hotel in advance asking about nearby attractions and honeymoon ideas. Γris Oliveira from the Front Office responded with detailed recommendations, which helped us plan our trip better. β Honeymoon Surprise! π The hotel left a bottle of champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and a personalized note congratulating us on our honeymoon. This thoughtful gesture made our day!
Nearby Attractions & Accessibility π
β Not in old Porto, but perfect for honeymooners! β 2 blocks from an amazing beach β Perfect for a morning or sunset walk. β Great seafood restaurants & shopping spots nearby. β Public transport available, but we used Bolt instead β Faster and reasonably priced.
Any Issues?
π« Only one small issue β On weekends, the breakfast buffet was a bit too busy, and some food trays were empty when we arrived.
What Makes This Hotel Unique? π
β The Honeymoon Experience β The welcome drinks, champagne, and chocolates were a beautiful touch. β Beachside Location with Amazing Seafood Restaurants Nearby!

Β Β Β Read moreMan, what a stay ! What do I mean ? Well, I REALLY struggled with how to write this review. After checking in, I was pretty livid at the frigid reception ( a combination of hotel trying out young staff during Holy Week and language barrier ). I mentioned staying for 4 days and paying for a decent room and an Upgrade would be appreciated, especially as the previous 2 properties made 0 effort. Same here. Zero effort from new girl. Raised my voice, made some intelligent and valid points and started to literally write Marriott an email in front of them. Well...suddenly...suddenly there is a 'misunderstanding' and gifts are being sent to our upgraded room. UTTER ridiculousness. I apologize for a long winded rant, but others with us agreed the staff made NO effort to even check availability and was waiving us away immediately. This has no excuse in the world of hospitality. Now, the hotel ? It was cool. It's small. It's honestly likely designed for business travelers or even families of 1 or 2 stopping by for a night. We were 3 and we got a suite and it was tight. But the room was lovely and had a cool edged balcony and had a working kitchenette. It's not a hotel for everyone. I would NOT come back for more than 1 or 2 days max. The area is kind of boring ( there are some gems, but hotel is somewhat isolated ) and the hotel makes zero effort to create real ambiance. It feels like they pride themselves on this postcardesque tiny lobby , yet it's empty and frigid. Uninviting, like the unfriendlies working the front desk here.
PRO
the bar staff rules. All of them, pleasant and down to earth. the gym is small but pretty good. I really enjoyed working out there, especially as it was empty Breakfast is included for Plat members. But it wasn't amazing. However, the staff here is superb. Wow. They were amazing. You can walk to beach in 2 mins or less. There is a decent supermarket like 400 feet from the hotel. this bar makes GREAT COCKTAILS. The 2nd best I had in Spain ( Spain/ Europe is so behind on cocktails or the like )
CONS
the front desk staff is terrible. some of the staff is so young and new to working in general that you run into issues w there lack of Bonvoy knowledge and/or general hospitality common sense best practices. hotel is boring. Lmao. Nothing to do in lobby or near it they didn't clean our room for 2 days. I have Never had that happen. This is a major...
