Ribatejo — Restaurant in Matosinhos

What a surprise! We live nearby and often pass by this restaurant, but today we decided to stop and have our dinner here. As soon as we walked in, we were very surprised by the great taste of furniture and the atmosphere of a fine dining restaurant. The staff is super nice and welcoming, the space is decorated with style. We ordered the signature codfish (bacalhau a Ribatejo) and the signature francesinha (Francesinha a Ribatejo). Although the codfish was slightly dried for my palate, the taste of grelos, potatoes and codfish was superb. The francesinha came from the wood fired oven and it was delicious. Maybe the second best one (after the one from a well known restaurant chain) in the whole Porto area. We ended up ordering the cheesecake Biscoff served in an elegant plate with caramel decoration and a biscoff cookie. A great service from the stuff contributed to a very nice overall...

Excellent meal, first class service. Highlight for me was the way we were looked after by the staff, took time to translate the menu and recommend food and wine. We were the only people there at 7.30 on a Friday night but the place soon filled up with locals. We were all eating the francesinha which was cooked in a wood oven and was very good, large portion, lots of fries and the cook brought me over extra sauce which was very hot and very welcome. The salmon was excellent too and left no room for dessert.. The local wine was very good, a great choice...

Fomos jantar ontem com a promoção de 30% do the fork e saímos de lá completamente satisfeitos. Desde do momento de chegada até ao ponto de saída fomos muito bem recebidos e tratados pelo staff, sempre prontos apesar de terem estado com menos uma pessoa no seu staff. Para entradas pedimos uns nachos com compota de frutas vermelhas que estavam ótimos. Para prato principal não poderia ser diferente do nosso habitual uma bela de uma francesinha em forno a lenha, o molho ainda vinha a borbulhar do forno e o mesmo era ótimo. Era bastante recheada a francesinha e os produtos notavam-se que eram de qualidade 😁. No fim fizemos algo que não costumamos fazer pois geralmente já estamos tão afrontados do que jantamos que nem conseguimos pedir, a sobremesa e deixem que vos diga aceitamos a sugestão do cheesecake de oreo com cobertura de doces de ovos e ainda bem que a pedimos era de comer e chorar por mais. Pedimos também uma fatia de abacaxi pois eu não sou muito de doces e mesmo assim adorei a sobremesa 😁 No final com a promoção em vez de quase 40€ pagamos 30€ pelo que jantamos e mesmo sem a promoção achamos barato para duas pessoas quase 40€ relativamente aos dias de hoje e tendo em conta o que comemos. Iremos voltar novamente de certeza passou a ser um restaurante que adoramos. Agora ficam com as fotos do que jantamos para se babarem até la poderem ir e aviso já que...
