Dominó — Restaurant in Olhão

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF THAT CRAZY WOMAN ANSWERS THE PHONE.

I truly do not understand how this restaurant has raving reviews when you know who works there.

After reading amazing reviews about this restaurant, we decided to go out to eat here as I read they are very popular because of good food. I decided to make reservations first. So I called and a woman answered the phone. I asked her about about the availability but her tone was not kind. She was screaming across the phone at every question she threw at me and I was in shock and surprised but I thought: you know what it's just all in my head and maybe it's the Portugese temperament or something so I went along with still making the reservation for the next day.

We went to the restaurant with a taxi and upon arriving there we we were again received with hostile behaviour from the woman I spoke on the phone. I immediately knew it was her as she was again screaming and purposely pronounced our last name wrong to tell us there are no reservations for us. I decided not to fight with her about the reservation because God knows what she will do the food if we would have eaten there. Even her friends who were in the restaurant looked at her strange as she was doing way too much. The whole restaurant was empty so she could have invited us in. She acts like a highschool bully who decides who can eat there and who can't. Afterwards when we walked away without causing a scene she even came outside to yell at us again to mockingly wish us a happy holiday.

Never met such a vile and indecent human in my life! I also blame myself for not trusting my gut instincts after the strange reservation. This woman needs to be medicated and terminated from the restaurant if they still want to receive happy customers. I also truly don't understand how they can make a profit if she keeps pushing customers away because if you look at the worst rated reviews, she has done this before.

I truly believe the restaurant itself can provide good food but it's not worth going there and dealing with her. You will waste your money on transportation going there.

Luckily for us we went back to the main strip and found a place that had lovely staff and cooked amazing food! Our night was not ruined ;)

If I could, I would give -5 stars. It was disgusting. We sit down at the table, of course at the beginning we get a trap-starter. It looks like a fish washed in oil 10 times. I saw that it was not prepared, she bring it from the refrigerator after a previous client who did not touch it (no wonder). And we have an EPIDEMIC OF COVID-19 !!! scandal. we wanted to leave, but we were alone in the restaurant and we were a bit stupid. We pass to ordering. I take a feijoada, she a fish. my dish looks like something that hasn't been sold in a week, and it's served to the accompaniment of a microwave from the back ... But fish is just a joke. looks like a ready product taken out of the freezer for heating. seriously? things like that in a port city? the batter looked like the one on ‘frosts’ products... after this circus I go over to pay. 5 euro is left from the full banknote, and the owner without any shame asks if 'no change?' !!! in one word, tragedy. in times of an epidemic, such things are a gross inflection ... I DO NOT...

Added because of a kind reply from the owner; I have to put stars down because you cannot write without them. I did not want to put 1 star ... Because we drove, from Bordeira to have diner at Dominó. Your website says: OPEN, Google maps says OPEN. Perhaps it is wise to communicate your restaurant being closed so people checking TripAdvisor, Google Maps or your Website are not disappointed. That is why I did not put 5 stars as well.

I just put this up so people know at the moment you are closed for construction. So yes, I do this by putting down and avarage rating.

When is Dominó open again? We could plan our next trip and give you a rating based on the food and service.

We loved, really loved our diner at Mósse, just down the road, instead.
