Beware. Manager rude and disrespectful. Read reviews below as I’m not the only one who is complaining about the rude staff. I ordered fish filet, I needed no bones as the fish was for my kids. The waiter guaranteed me the fish wouldn’t have any bones, however filet was filled with bones, and way too salty, disgusting. It was actually salt fish though he didn’t tell me that, and the menu says grilled cod. He took it back with a real attitude, and I ordered something else which he slammed down in front of me. He humiliated me. Then he charged me for BOTH meals. I told him there was a mistake. He was incredibly disrespectful and tossed the phone at me. He told me he’d call the police if I didn’t pay him for both the meals though I barely touched the fish meal. He threatened me to call the police on me!! I had no choice and I paid. I’ve been a business owner myself for 30 years I would never treat a customer so terribly. And this man was the waiter AND the owner. Shame on him. If your visiting Portugal, don’t go here. This man apparently doesn’t like Americans, or maybe just tourists. I don’t care if he’s been in business or if others like his restaurant, I had a horrible experience, bad enough I’m writing a review to warn others. Every single person in this country has been incredibly kind, this man ruined my last night after being here for a month. And he scared my children. I told my hotel who recommended this restaurant. They will not be referring others, they were horrified that a local business owner would treat customers with such bad...

A warning to my fellow British travellers.

Worst meal I've had in 4 months away from home. Unfortunately after reading all the great reviews the 1 bad review was the most true. I'm not sure if this place changed owners recently but the standards are certainly not what people were saying.

The bread and cheese was as good as bread and cheese can be. My favourite part of the meal was my lovely can of Sprite.

Now on to the expensive piece of rubber that we were served as a main. Supposed to be cod it tasted like chewing the Croc on my foot, clearly frozen, defrosted in a microwave quickly then thrown on a grill to give the impression of being cooked properly. Served with 3 small potatoes drowned in olive oil and that's it for €19.

Tourists trap springs to mind, the waiter seemed rude from the start but we thought it had good reviews so maybe the atmosphere would change. It didn't, no background music made it echoey and awkward for everyone sat around in silence. The waiter asked everyone but us if they're meals were okay, clearly knowing that ours was below standard.

I cannot recommend this place, in a town with lots of choice there are many other options.

Quick summary: food real good for me, but my boyfriend's grilled calamari were hard. It was crowded, and the atmosphere was far from pleasant. Waiter got in a row with table next to us, and we didn't have any room to move since the tables were almost back to back, and too close to the table next to us.

Long version: My partner and I came here for dinner. We realised that it was really packed, but we were hungry and wanted to try this particular place. First of all, we were seated too close to another couple, less than half a meter apart. Also, my chair was almost back to back to someone else, with no room to move. If someone wanted to go out from either of the tables, we had to stand up. Even the waiter couldn't reach the table we were sat next to. It was quite uncomfortable. Moreover, the table next to us got into a row with one of the waiters, with the waiter getting quite aggressive and going directly over me to shout at the other table. Can't say the atmosphere was pleasant. About the food, mixed opinions from my boyfriend and myself. I ordered the "Caldeirada de Congro" (conger stew), and I must say it was delicious, it tasted like homemade.
