Ilha Hostel & Suites — Hotel in Ponta Delgada

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The rooms were clean and modern, with AC and electronic locks. The included breakfast is also very good. The location is perfect - close to the water, restaurants, parking spots, and even a car rental company.

The service was outstanding. I booked my stay last minute and arrived early in the morning before getting my entry code, and Patricia was incredibly helpful in getting me situated!

The hostel also has some private bedrooms. The atmosphere seemed like it was mostly couples traveling together. For instance, there's a big common room on the top floor, but I don't think anyone even knew about it.

The only thing I didn't like was that the shower has no ledge between the stall and floor, so water eventually begins flooding the rest of the floor, leaving a sitting puddle of water for the...

Amazing hostel experience that feels like a hotel.The dorms are tidy and cleaned daily with your towels replaced, shower gel and soap in the bathrooms. Each bed has a charger, light, privacy curtain and very comfortable bedding. 6-person dorm too meant nothing was ever too cramped and the room was large with a balcony and living area. The free breakfast is exceptional with a fully functioning kitchen for cooking.

If your experience is like mine : at night time you will need a code to get in and you will not receive this code in advance via email. You will be stuck outside the building on a dark, empty street, until you contact the host to get this code. Also you will not be left a keycard even though you specify your arrival time on your booking and you book more than 3 hours in advance of your stay. The host will tell you it’s your fault because you made a last minute booking. And you will need to use a card of your own to turn on the lights.
