This restaurant was recommended to us by a guide, Eduardo.
It was my wife's birthday, so we wanted to have dinner together at a good restaurant.
Eduardo made the reservation for us, and upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt a great connection.
The hostess explained everything to us, and we were able to enjoy the most exquisite dishes.
The starter was surprising and very flavorful. For the main course, we chose both fish and meat — tuna and beef tenderloin. The portions were generous, and the quality was outstanding — I’ve never had anything like it before. It was tender, juicy, and cooked exactly the way we like it.
Since it was my wife’s birthday, she was also given special attention, which made the evening even more memorable.
For dessert, we enjoyed a delicious coffee and whisky.
This is truly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to, and I highly recommend it...
Read moreJust an awesome experience, fantastic food and such a friendly ambiance! The restaurant, about 20 years in continuous operation, is located a few steps off the "Marginal" (the oceanside area along the central Avenida Infante Dom Henrique); it took us about two minutes' walk from our Grand Hotel Açores Atlântico. To say that the menu is extensive is a serious understatement. It is simply endless featuring various appetizers, tons of fish and meat dishes as well as delicious desserts. The prices are very budget-friendly, the portion sizes are huge. The owner, Jôao Chaves, is not just an outstanding restaurateur and a great guy, but he is also a very talented accomplished photographer. You can even purchase the prints of his photographs displayed on the walls, both as hard copies and digital sequences. All and all, we can't recommend Sâo Pedro highly enough. Simply put, just a gem of...
Read moreOrdered octopus, fish of the day, and Visto do Rei steak. We came here starving so to say the food was way below average speaks volumes.
Fish of the day was the only decent dish we had - just grilled with olive oil and salt. Hard to mess this up.
Octopus was so fishy and just tasted like it had been frozen and boiled. Easily the worst octopus I've ever had in my life.
Visto do Rei steak was jarring - I've never seen steak so overcooked and stringy. It might as well have been pulled pork. Somehow the fries it came with were way undercooked and the steak was so chewy and hard to even cut.
Service was awful here too. The men here are so blunt and rude and unfriendly.
Overall I'd say this was the worst meal I've had during my time here. Please go anywhere...
