We have been visiting Alvor for many years, and every trip always begins with a meal at Adega. This restaurant has consistently been one of our favorites, and for good reason.
The staff here are simply outstanding, particularly Christine and Fonseca. They always remember us and take exceptional care of us, making every visit special. Their warm hospitality truly sets the restaurant apart.
The restaurant has a extensive menu with something for everyone and I can say with confidence you won’t be disappointed!
The food is consistently amazing, and the service is usually fast. We start every meal with the couvert, which is the best in Alvor, especially the tuna pâté. The giant tiger prawns with rice are a must-try—full of flavor, light, and fresh. Recently, I tried the Portuguese steak, and it was outstanding, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor.
Dessert is always a treat with the triology, which is delicious and served with a traditional shot of Portuguese madrona that really packs a punch. The crepes with strawberries and cream is also a family favourite, including an Irish coffee!!
By far, this is the best restaurant in Alvor and a highly recommended spot for anyone looking for a great dining experience. Such a beautiful place with incredible food and unbelievable service. This places holds a special place in our hearts as we have been going for many years as a family and love bringing our friends along for a meal too!

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful lunch at Adega d'Alvor during my visit to the Algarve, and it left a lasting impression on me.
.The presence of an inside tree added a touch of charm and natural beauty to the restaurant, creating an inviting atmosphere that was both cozy and elegant.
For starters, we indulged in the king prawn in spicy garlic sauce. The prawns were perfectly cooked, succulent, and packed with flavor. The sauce had just the right amount of spice, adding a delightful kick to the dish. It was a fantastic appetizer that set the tone for the rest of our lunch.
Moving on to the main courses, my partner opted for the monkfish and king prawn curry, while I savored the sea bass. The monkfish and prawn curry impressed us with its harmonious blend of flavors. The creamy curry sauce complemented the delicate taste of the seafood beautifully. As for the sea bass, it was a true delight. The fish was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin and tender, flaky flesh that melted in our mouths.
Throughout our lunch, the customer service was good. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that we had a memorable dining experience. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they made us feel genuinely welcome.
While Adega d'Alvor may be slightly pricier than some other lunch spots, the quality and taste of the food undoubtedly justified the cost. Each dish was prepared with finesse and showcased the finest ingredients, making it worth...
Read moreWe walked past this restaurant many times and didn't venture in as we wanted a "lighter" lunch, but today we were there on an invite and it was fabulous. A great environment for a small lunch but also great for a big group. We were 16 and had pre-booked so the choice was small but the food excellent.
A lovely environment, inside the roof can be rolled back. Great service from a very good team
I had pork fillet and it was tender, juicy, perfectly cooked with a great selection of vegetables. My wife had salmon fillet (about twice as big as you would imagine) with lemon butter and veg. Very well cooked and very tasty.
These mains were served after the usual olives, carrots, tuna dip (home made & great tasting) & bread (wide selection) covers, also with great prawns and Aoli dip. A super tasty fish soup (no seafood for those with allergies) followed.
Dessert was served in the form of 5 typical algarvean sweets, all tasty and finished off with good coffee. Copious amounts of red or white house wine washed it all down.
For me the test is always "would I go again" and the answer for this restaurant is a strong yes. We can't wait to go and try out the...
