Namaste India — Restaurant in Portimão

We visit family in Alvor three to four times a year and we always try to find an Indian restaurant at least once during our stay.

On this occasion we stayed at an apartment right opposite Namaste. We decided to visit the restaurant, based on the recent 5 star reviews.

Namaste has most definitely the very best Indian food we’ve found in the area. We’ve tried various restaurants in Alvor and Portimao and always been a bit disappointed. But Namaste has exceeded our expectations.

The service was first class, and the food was as good as a good British Indian restaurant in the UK.

We chose the fish curry, which had lovely sweet coconut flavours, and the chicken karahi which was rich and well spiced. The breads were well cooked and not greasy.

We ate on the patio one time (noisy because of traffic) and did take away another time. The only bad dish we had was the mixed grill tandoori—it was extremely dry.
