It is an absolute disgrace to present yourself to be Portuguese from Porto and serve such a tasteless, bland and awfully made Francesinha. I’ve had the pleasure of eating some very good Francesinha in my life, so I know what a good Francesinha is, even though I’m not Portuguese. And yes, even in Porto I have eaten Francesinhas. The sauce was completely watery and had no flavor, the meat was cut far too thick and felt like chewing on leather, the linguiça wasn’t real linguiça but some cheap sausage.
The cheekiest thing of all is that they charge extra money to share a dish, even charge fees for cutlery and you even have to pay extra if you want more sauce for the Francesinha. Not even at my favorite Portuguese restaurant in my hometown in Switzerland you have to pay for extra sauce or cutlery. You should be deeply ashamed of yourselves.
Edit: I find it absolutely pathetic how you try to manipulate the reviews with friends that write good stuff immediately as soon as someone writes a bad review. Dude at this point just make it less obvious cause smart people ain't stupid. Take the bad reviews as an opportunity to grow and better yourself and your services.
Just because someone is running their business for 16 years, doesn't mean they are doing everything right. You're located at a touristic spot. Those who find your francesinha good are tourists who never eaten a good francesinha before or as I said friends that want to keep your business going. Every local we got to talk to after our visit in your restaurant told us they are not surprised by the quality of the food in your restaurant and your place is known for bad food. Also don't worry about me it's much easier than you think to find a restaurant that serves delicious francesinhas and not serve some tasteless...
Read moreWonderful local experience and staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They speak English which was helpful. It was our first experience trying francesinha and now we are hooked! I’m not sure other places will live up to this one (the owners are experts in perfecting it authenticity from the region it originated). We also had a super delicious pesto, tomato, cheese toasted sandwich which was perfect after a hot day (and an ideal vegetarian option). Caipirinhas were our favorite drink and very inexpensive. This place is not to be missed and conveniently located just steps from the main road above Praia da Rocha (between some souvenir shops). The restaurant offers an outdoor patio with a wonderful breeze. Friendliest place we have been to the whole trip. We will be back! Thanks for the wonderful food,...
Read moreIn one hand I do understand this is a place for local kids to drink without legal troubles. My first experience, the people behind the counter just stare at myself and didn't even greet me. Asked for a beer, they didn't have enought change, got pocket full of coins without even telling me they didn't got change. The beer was full of foam and spilled a lot on the counter before I got it. Everytime I go by someone different is working there - that not only domonstrate something that I hate, no contracts! Anyways, I don't like reviewing a place after being told to do it - if you don't know why you get 1 and 2 stars, then it won't be I...
