BOMNAL — Restaurant in Porto

I was craving for some Asian food since I have been traveling in Europe for a while and found this place on google maps. The place does fill up quickly so I do recommend getting here as early as possible when they open. I ordered a Kimchi Jeon (fried Kimchi pancake) and Doenjang-jjigae (soybean stew) which came with a bowl of rice. While it was regrettable that the store did not offer banchan as Korean restaurants normally do, the restaurant made up for it with the high quality authentic food that they served. The Kimchi Jeon was fried to perfection, just the right amount of crisp with plenty of kimchi in it. It is noteworthy that the Kinchi Jeon was not too sour as well, truly amazing. The Doenjang-jjigae immediately took me back to my time studying in Seoul. The jjigae was so good that I ordered another bowl of rice to go with it. The food here truly hits the spot and I highly recommend anyone who is seeking a taste of authentic Korean food...

My latest visit and this little place goes from strength to strength.

A new and excellent Korean restaurant just a few minutes walk from 24 August metro. Menu includes ramen, seaweed, rice and noodle based dishes, I had spicy pork with rice. The staff were concerned that I knew it was spicy, but for me it was perfect and not fiercely hot. Limited selection of drinks and I ended up with a Super Bock. Highly recommended.

Back again, for the excellent kimbap this time.

3월 포르투 3박 4일의 여행 동안 총 세 번이나 갔습니다! 정말 한국에서 먹는 것 보다 너무 맛있었고, 유럽 여행을 두 달 동안 다니며 먹은 모든 한식 중에 가장 맛있었어요! 한국에 와서도 포르투 사진을 볼 때마다 봄날에서 먹었던 음식들이 항상 떠오릅니다! 사장님 부부도 너무 친절하시고 꼭 잘 되셨으면 좋겠어요!! 여행 다니는 내내 만나는 사람들과 한국에 와서도 포르투에 간다고 하면 꼭 추천하는 맛집입니다!! 타지에서도 항상 행복하시고 파이팅하세요!! 늦게 써서 죄송해여ㅠㅜ During my 4-day, 3-night trip to Porto, I went to this restaurant three times! The food was even more delicious than what I usually eat in Korea, and out of all the Korean meals I had during my two months of traveling around Europe, this was by far the best! Even after returning to Korea, whenever I see photos of Porto, I always think of the amazing food I had at Bomnal. The owners are incredibly kind, and I truly hope their business thrives! I always recommend this place to everyone I meet while traveling, and even now, if someone says they’re going to Porto, I tell them they must visit this restaurant.
