Residencial Monte Carlo — Hotel in Porto

We got allocated this hotel as part of a Groupon mystery holiday. The hotel is basic, and very tired looking, but it is clean and comfy enough.|The staff allowed us to leave our bags behind reception as we arrived a fee hours before check in, but this was done at our own risk as anyone can walk into the hotel and reception is up a flight of stairs to the right, but there is literally never anyone on reception. We stayed here for 4 nights and I only ever saw staff when I rang the bell at reception. The hotel is a 25 minute walk from the Luís I Bridge (which is the main area you will want to go to in Porto), so it's not too far away but still a good walk and a steep hilly one at that! Our room, consisted of a doubled bed (good size and reasonably comfy) a decent size wardrobe, two bedside units and a private en suite. The ensuite was average, it was quite small, and the shower was diabolical (shower doors didn't shut properly and the shower had a split in the head so didn't spray water properly) but it was clean and fresh towels were provided every day. Our balcony view was a seemingly abandoned building site, again not great but you get what you pay. |In my opinion at around €20-€30 a night it really isn't that bad, it's certainly not romantic as some reviews have suggested but it is by no means a dirty, dingey hell hole. The hotel was ok, not too far from the centre (like 15 min walking untill you reach the main plaza), the staff is very nice and friendly. We could even keep our luggage for half of the day after the check out, while we were still in the centre of the city. The balconies could be cleaner, and the walls were a bit dirty also. There were prob just 4 hangers in the wardrobe and no place to hang them, cause both holders were broken. The room had a big tv with lots of various channels in english as well. Air conditioner worked perfectly. The bathroom was really spacious and comfortable, didn't expect that. If you have a room whic has a window to the street, then you will hear some noise fom outside, nothing too crazy, but still. Oh, and our window didn't close properly. Wi-fi works very poorly as well (we stayed on the 2nd floor). Anyways, this hostel we have picked like 5 days before, there were no cheep hotels nearer the centre, so we were just glad to have this one, otherwise there other better options in the centre of the city.||We stayed in the middle...

Nem sei por onde começar. Nem o livro de reclamações se aproveitava, cheio de bolor entre páginas e com as páginas coladas. Tive de escrever porque logo no início um de nós ia tomar banho e assim que tocámos na torneira do duche aquilo caiu (já estava partido internamente).Liguei para o nº de apoio ao hóspede que eles metem nos quartos e ninguém atende. Tive de atravessar a rua para falar com alguém já de noite. Uma funcionária ouviu-me, ligou à superior e para além de ser muito rude para a própria funcionária ainda me acusou que nós é que tínhamos partido a dita torneira. Disse-me para esperar até às 9h do dia seguinte para arranjarem a torneira. Só saía água fria, pedi um alicate para eu rodar a patilha para água quente e a superior rejeitou. Acordámos às 7h por causa da claridade ( o estore não fecha totalmente), um de nós lavou a cabeça no lavatório pela água quente e eu ia tomar banho de água fria. Com força consegui rodar aquilo com os dedos e tomei banho de água quente, mas há fuga de água para o chão porque a cabine está mal isolada. Fui à receção porque não apareceu ninguém às 9h e uma funcionária disse que naquele quarto já tinha uma torneira partida por um hóspede anterior. Vieram ajudar ao quarto e colocou uma capa da torneira do quarto ao lado, mas que mesmo assim, soltava-se facilmente. Pedi reembolso de 75% das 2 noites e 2 pessoas, rejeitaram. Antes da 2ª noite às 21h40 pedi reembolso da 2ª noite e rejeitou também. Fomos embora na mesma, prescindindo daquele dinheiro já pago.

Para além destes problemas, a porta do WC estava partida, o móvel do WC parecia do lixo, paredes riscadas, sofás com manchas brancas, uma lâmpada fundida, um rolo de papel higiénico novo e outro já quase no fim (já usado de outro lado qualquer), cheiro a mofo intenso e a cama era tão oca que sentia a madeira por baixo, o extintor no corredor estava no chão encostado a um banco. Após reclamações, acusam-nos de termos partido a torneira mesmo com a funcionária a reconhecer que foi outra pessoa, mentem nas horas que fiz o pedido do reembolso, e que "andava a fazer férias à conta dos hoteleiros". São duma indecência inenarrável. Paguei para ser enxovalhado no 1º...
