Rrally enjoyed the pasteis de nata with a glass of port wine. Perfect flakiness and perfect level of sweetness. I love that there is no egg-y flavour that I previously found on the ones from other shops. It would be even better if served warm, especially since I visited during winter season. The bacalhau croquette was really good too.

Interior of the upper level is aesthetic. Unfortunately I had the worst kind service from Karla or Klara, who rolled eyes on me for a few times because I can't speak Portuguese. She made it clear she isn't keen for me to speak English with no smile at all from beginning and even after I reordered, she was still rude and kept sighing. I tried to use the google translate but she didn't really seem to bother reading either. As if she had previous bad experience with English speaking people. On the other hand, Alef kindly help me out and was very very friendly. But even then, Karla seems to not liking Alef helping me, with her still rolling her eyes in...

The Best Natas in Porto — and a Perfect Spot to Enjoy Them!

Fábrica de Natas is an absolute delight! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the aroma of freshly baked pastéis de nata that instantly makes you smile. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always serve with a genuine smile — their great service really stands out.

The natas themselves are perfection: crisp, flaky pastry with a creamy, rich custard filling that’s just the right balance of sweetness. Easily the best I’ve had in Porto! Pair one (or three) with a coffee or a glass of port for the full experience.

The patio is beautiful — a peaceful, sunlit spot right in the heart of the city where you can relax and watch the world go by.

If you’re visiting Porto, do yourself a favor and stop by Fábrica de Natas. It’s a true taste of Portugal at its...

This charming café in Porto instantly brought back memories of classic Italian cafés, where you sip a quick espresso al banco. The atmosphere is vibrant and efficient, making it an ideal spot for a fast yet delightful start to the day. Their menu includes all the breakfast staples you could ask for, such as sandwiches, fresh salads, and perfectly crisp baguettes. However, what truly sets this place apart is its playful morning offering: a combo of pastel (the traditional Portuguese pastry) paired with either Porto wine or their intriguing “Copo Liqueur 35” option. It's a fun and unconventional way to kickstart your day with a blend of tradition and novelty. If you're in Porto and appreciate a café with a nod to both Italian espresso culture and Portuguese flair, this spot is definitely...

Nestled in the heart of Porto, Fabrica de Nata is a delightful gem that captures the essence of Portuguese cuisine. The rustic decor, infused with traditional elements, sets the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable dining experience. Fabrica de Nata shines as a great breakfast spot, offering an array of delicious options to start your day right. Their signature dish, the classic Pastel de Nata, is simply a must-try. These creamy custard tarts, with their perfectly flaky crust and caramelized top, are nothing short of divine. Pair one with a robust cup of Portuguese coffee, and you have a breakfast that’s both indulgent and comforting. The service at Fabrica de Nata deserves a mention as well; the staff is attentive and genuinely friendly, ensuring that your visit is pleasant from start to finish.

I was actually surprised by how rude they were. I was excited to eat one of these amazing desserts so I ordered a pack of six. What they gave me was horrible. I have eaten these all around the world and I didn’t know it was possible to make them so badly until now. All six of them were very burned on top and gooey and uncooked in the middle. I had to throw them all away a waste of six euros. Don’t go here. Every Portuguese egg tart I have ever had in my life has been so much better than these, from any store or tiny Café anywhere. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. I even showed them to the lady at reception who is from Porto and she said oh my g*d don’t eat that it’s horrible! It’s burned and not cooked, you’ll get sick. And she told me to throw them away.
