I was recommended this place by a friend who is from Porto who lives in the same area of London as I do. The reason for the recommendation was for the ‘Francesinha’ a Porto dish - so I made my visit today. Apparently this Resturant has been here since 1963, something which has lasted the test of time clearly better than me. I went for the ‘Classic Francesinha’ with a fries and an ice cold draft beer. Read moreThis is what I would call a typical Portuguese restaurant/cafe. It serves both pastries and coffee as well as traditional Portuguese dishes. It is located directly next to the Bonfim church and is around 10mins away from both the metro stations Campanha and 24 de agosto. Service was fast and friendly and the Prego no Prato that I ordered was delicious. The meat was juicy and easy to cut, the rice eas flavourful and the potatoes were crispy. They have a nice selection of pastries as well and prices are low. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and want to experience traditional...

The prices are low, and the service is nice. They also have food, but I haven’t tried it. You might find other fancier places, but this one looks like one where locals go. The staff does not speak English, however they seem to understand or guess what you saying, so you talk to them in English and they will rely in Portuguese. I would recommend if your accommodation is close and you want to have a non-pretentious,...
