Pros: -excellent service: I went solo and they made me feel welcomed but not too overboard by checking in too frequently or rushing me out -vibe: cozy atmosphere with dim light; even though I was alone, I was able to enjoy the evening and listen into the surrounding chatter, almost like white noise. Also love that the music is not overbearing, most sounded like ambient/asmr music. -wine: tried the house white wine which was affordable and checks the box (I am a wine newbie so take it with the grain of salt)
Cons: -main dish of octopus: honestly, this was underwhelming sadly. The portion was decent but the octopus itself was on the salty side, which is a personal taste I admit. The biggest downfall was that it was surprisingly tough (see video). I had octopus in Lisbon few days before which was so so soft (regular dining knife not steak knife slides thru with one stroke), appropriately seasoned and cheaper (20 euros vs 24.9). I had this in Agua pela Barba (they also have wonderful ceviche, promise I am not paid by them). I really looked forward to this dish as where I am from I cannot get good seafood and also this was my last meal in Portugal. Perhaps the chef had a bad day? Not sure but anywho it wasn't great. Appetizer of traditional sausage was decent.
Overall: If you're staying in the area (foz), then this is a good restaurant to try (perhaps order something other than octopus to be safe) considering the vibe, the service and proximity. If you're looking for a good octopus dish (like I was), look...
Read moreI was lucky enough to meet the owner, Filipe, earlier that day at our local butcher In addition to having the cutest little baby, he gave me some tips for a ramen recipe that I am making even now 😀 My love and I went to his restaurant that same day and were greeted by the soothing feel of walking into a lovely home You feel like you’re sharing time rather than going out to eat at Treze % Filipe came to our table several times to check on us and share some of his positive energy. The back of the restaurant is an enclosed patio with a retractable roof that lets you enjoy the starry Portugal sky. Wonderful vibe Oh, and I definitely enjoyed the best garlic shrimp Ive had in Portugal. Sorry, no pic of that one, ate it too fast 😅 ps - the last pic is of the Ramen we’re making as Im writing...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful meal. We celebrated as a family for a milestone birthday. I researched so many places before settling on Trezé % and it was perfect - the ambience, the lighting, the music. The team were all amazing - thank you Filipe - attentive service without being too fussy. And the food 🤩, all delicious, local ingredients, perfectly cooked - steak, octopus, monkfish, we tried our best to finish it all but we couldn’t! Great wine selection, and prices. The meal finished with birthday cake, and some port of course. Incredible value for this level of service and quality. One of the best meals I have ever had, I can’t fault a single thing. We will be back next time we are...
