Came across this park by chance. Took the old tram from the city center to the end of the river/beach.

Most people didn't even walk through but rather walked along the boulevard next to the river, which is a shame because this park is very beautiful. Very aesthetically pleasing with vibrantly colored flowers and fountains.

There is more than enough seating and lots of places to dispose of trash. It is kept very clean and tidy.

There's public toilets for men and women in a yellow and purple building in the middle of the park. The toilet has a sign saying it's 0,20 Euro cents but there was no one there when I went.

The same building also has information folders about the park which is really nice, and there's also a historical toilet and washbasin that is protected behind glass. Even the toilets were made in the blue tile...

É tão bonito e salutar passear num local tão mágico como este! Tem um pouco de tudo para agradar a todos! Desde as vistas de tirar o fôlego da foz do rio Douro aos pequenos cafés, pastelarias, lojas típicas e até restaurants modernos e restaurados que estão espalhados pelos passeios nos dois lados da estrada que atravessa a Foz do Douro. Falar no Jardim do Passeio Alegre é falar no muito popular campo de minigolf, nos faróis nos pontões, nos coretos antigos com programação musical durante o verão, nas festas dos Santos Populares com a animação musical, jogos e atrações populares! Tudo isto fica à distância de um passeio (curto mas prazeroso e muito, muito bonito) até ao Forte de S. João da Foz onde voltamos para trás e regressamos ao início à beira dos grandes portões do Casão Militar! Ainda fica tanto para dizer, falar, descrever, aprender, absorver, vivenciar, etc, etc sobre a Foz do Douro e sobre o Jardim do Passeio Alegre... A minha sugestão é sair de casa e ir passear, desfrutar da beleza do Jardim do Passeio Alegre e arredores, absorver a história das gentes, dos lugares e monumentos da Foz do Douro, lanchar com vista para o rio Douro ou à beira-mar na Praia dos Ingleses, por exemplo, dar um mergulho no mar e/ou falar com o povo, com os veteranos que moram na Foz o ano inteiro! Ah, e não esquecer de visitar também o Parque de Serralves ou o menos conhecido Parque da Pasteleira, desfrutar do passeio pela natureza à beira dos bairros típicos do Porto e, se ainda houver tempo ir até ao Parque da Cidade que já é um bocadinho mais longe mas vale a pena, andar a cavalo ou de bicicleta, fazer uma das aulas de yoga gratuitas durante a época do verão, visitar o Sea Life do Porto ou o Forte de São Francisco Xavier ver o pôr-do-sol sentados em família, nas esplanadas do edifício transparente... Estou a divagar, a minha sugestão é visitar e desfrutar a sós, a dois ou em família ou com amigos, o Jardim do Passeio Alegre é uma pérola perfeita e a Foz do Douro é uma pedra preciosa para desfrutar e admirar, é um local do melhor para criar recordações e sonhar acordado!
