Sesimbrense — Restaurant in Sesimbra

Above all, I must say everything went particularly smoothly until the last third of our dinner.

Despite of the fact that the food (Arroz de choco com gambas) was salty and pricey, which we did not complain in the beginning because we would have to wait another half an hour. In the end and has for after drinks, we ordered something common in Portugal called ''cortada'' (50% Beirao 50% whisky) , the waitress (who apparently also has some capital invested in the restaurant, I am pretty sure she was the manager), served us the way she ''knew'' but in the end she charged us for unit 1 full Beirao and 1 full Whisky per ''cortada'' asked for. Sneaky girl. Of course we complain about it, she took it everything to the heart and she dissed us in front of all people while we were not unpolite to her, but because she is the manager she started shouting and screaming in front of all the people. We were super embarrassed, and me as a super proud son of my mother, while I work in the Petrochemical sector in Rotterdam, I had to hear words like: '' If I had a mother like yours I would cut my wrists'' This is totally unacceptable, but this is what you can get when lower class people have the chance to open up restaurants in Portugal. Despite the fact that myself am a Portuguese, I completely feel embarrassed for all the words that were thrown towards us. I could describe even further the discussion which lasted for more than 20 minutes but I guess you guys get the feeling of...

Great food with affordable prices. Explained about my wife’s allergies and very accommodating. Had the grilled squid day one, I liked it with the ink and squid eggs but they can clean it for you if you prefer. Fish stew was excellent and affordable. My wife had the golden bream both days good size fish with salad and boiled potatoes or fries. Third day called to make reservations and lady who comes visiting our table to inquire on the food remembered me and what we ate the prior day. It does help that I speak Portuguese. A very nice place in Sesimbra to eat some fresh grilled fish of outstanding quality and without having to wait too long. The food selection it quite OK. I recommend the grilled "espadarte" stake and definitely the swordfish (exquisite 👌). The quality of the stewed broccoli and potatoes was also great. The facilities are nothing fancy, but also OK.
