Tasca Do 13 — Restaurant in Sesimbra

We sat down for lunch on a busy Sunday, this was the only place that had availability, all other surrounding places had a queue and at least 30m waiting time (this should have been a hint but we had two hangry kids who wanted food there and then).

We ordered the grilled sardines for the adults, a meagre portion size of five skinny sardines per person (I've bought fatter sardines from Lidl's frozen section). They were properly grilled and well salty. The potatos, that should have been one per adult, were tiny. A total of four baby potatoes per adult. My child eats her breakfast cereal in bigger bowls.

For drinks we asked for the beer selection, which was Estrella in small or large.

The children had the grilled salmon, delicious. As we were ordering, when we asked to swap the baby potatoes for fries, we were told that due to costs they wouldn't allow swaps so we had to order fries as extra. Which we did, for 4.5 euros for a McDonald's medium sized fries. The baby potatoes for the salmon never came. Or they were blended in the adults' order, we'll never know.

When paying we were told that they ran out of they mbway quota of 50 transactions so we had to get cash from a local ATM.

The truly negative part was seeing the owner(?) who was manning the grill, taking a sip of water from his bottle and spitting it, fountain style, at the face of one of their employees, who was not impressed and hurried to dry her face. Might have been friendly banter but it looked very...

Tenho muitas dúvidas em classificar este restaurante. A comida é boa, de destacar as sobremesas, são sem dúvida o melhor. Muito caro, desde as entradas (caríssimas), às sobremesas (preços incompreensíveis apesar de serem boas), peixes na grelha caros, mas isso é um mal geral em Sesimbra. O ponto negativo é a amabilidade excessiva da responsável pelo espaço e a necessidade que tem em agradar, em valorizar-se pessoalmente e também ao próprio espaço, tornando-se mesmo inconveniente, pois eu quando vou a um restaurante é para conversar com quem está sentado à mesa e não com pessoas de fora. Menos é mais, creio que não há necessidade, ainda para mais quando se tenta de alguma forma denegrir outros espaços concorrentes na zona. Outro ponto negativo é que não têm multibanco. Não se entende esta situação num restaurante em que os valores finais das refeições não são propriamente baratos, as pessoas tenham que ter dinheiro. Se vou repetir, não. Caro demais para estar a receber aulas da história de Sesimbra, terra que eu conheço bem.

I have many doubts in rating this restaurant. The food is good, highlighting the desserts, they are without a doubt the best. Very expensive, from the starters (expensive), to the desserts (incomprehensible prices despite being good), expensive grilled fish, but this is a general evil in Sesimbra. The negative point is the excessive kindness of the person responsible for the space and the need to please, to value herself personally and also to the space itself, making it even inconvenient, because when I go to a restaurant it is to talk to whoever is seated. at the table and not with people outside. Less is more, I think there's no need, even more when trying to somehow denigrate other competing spaces in the area. Another downside is that they don't have an ATM. This situation is not understood in a restaurant where the final prices of meals are not exactly cheap, people have to have money. If I'm going to repeat it, no. Too expensive to be taking lessons on the history of Sesimbra, a land...

Do not recommend eating here, worst experience in Portugal. Staff was rude and didn’t as much as smile. The food took forever and the chef didn’t speak English or Portuguese therefore the steak was made well done instead of medium rare as asked. When paying we were told that they only accept cash, and were shown the sign outside where it said in small letters which is easy to miss. When giving them a kind advice to let their costumers know to avoid situations as ours they yelled at us that it is not good for business to tell the costumers.
