I have just had a very bad experience in the Peixoco restaurant. The waitress was incredibly rude and the chefs are inept. My bream was ruined twice, the waitress told me there was a problem the first time and the second time I was literally given burnt offerings. The waitress was nowhere to be seen at this point and the chef would not look at me. I actually had to get up from my table and bring the plate back to the chef at the pass and show him how he had let a plate of burnt food leave the pass and be served. The chef was highly embarrassed and apologised and he managed to get it more or less right the third time. Other customers had also sent food back. When I made the booking I informed the restaurant that my wife has a plant based diet. They clearly did not read this but the chef to his credit attempted an impromptu vegetable curry. Unfortunately this curry was bland and lukewarm. Because the chef ruined my dish twice myself and my wife ate separately as I waited 40 minutes for my food to be prepared and served and my wife was finished eating long before. This wasn't the dining experience we expected. When we challenged the bill the waitress acted like a spoilt child and only wanted to remove items from the bill we had not ordered - water and olives coming to a paltry 3:30 Euros, she said she would contact the owner, though when she called the owner we could clearly see from our table she resented doing this. She came back to our table disgusted by the recompense her boss offered which came to about 10 per cent . Whilst this was not enough to make up for the disastrous experience we decided that rather than be frustrated further we would just cut our losses and we left having paid over 50 Euros for a very stressful experience. What I find remarkable was the lack of empathy or understanding from the waitress in relation to how a restauraunt should be run They really should be ashamed of themselves. I recommend that you avoid this restaurant until the owners have had a good long think about their staffing choices and what good customer service looks like. If I could leave zero stars I would. To update the review my wife was sick all that night and the last day of our holiday was spoilt as result. No word from the owner since he asked for details so he could take 'measures' and I pointed him to...

To say that we were satisfied with the meal would be an understatement. Tonight was or last night in Portugal, we hung around lisbon hoping that some food would speak to us but the whole area was crowded with tourists and we just made a mad dash to Setubal.

WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID!

This was our favourite meal of the week. We ate (I forgot to take pictures of everything and it disappear way to fast) Mackerel Toast Cevich Prawns Bread & Olives Mackerel patee Fried cuttlefish Tuna steak (pictured) Tempura Butter Bean (pictured)

Honestly, we go out to eat and if I had this place in Toronto I would be the hapersob around. It was perfection on so many levels.

STAFF Whoever owns this place should be grateful and proud of the staff that are running the show there. Perfect balance of friendly, informative, and professional. I am in the event world and their work ethic left me sooo happy.

RESTAURANT (pics included) Not y much to say here except. It’s the pretties place in the block. 10/10...

Lovely restaurant, with a stylish interior, great service and delicious food (in general). We had 4 tapas dishes - grilled prawns, beef, lettuce & roe, and tuna tartar - that were all excellent. Our son had fish and chips - the fish was great, as were the chips. We then had a local speciality of fried cuttlefish, which was very nice, and a grilled sea bass, with lots of grilled veg on the side. Unfortunately the sea bass had a strange taste - I suspect it was the first fish to be grilled, and the chef had used some kind of lighter fluid to light the charcoal. We didn’t eat it all, and mentioned the taste to the staff. They were extremely professional, and took it away apologetically - the chef tasted it, and though they thought it tasted normal, they gave us one of our cocktails on the house. The sea-bass aside, it was a fantastic meal. I would go again, but would wait until after 7:45pm to order grilled...

We wanted to try choco, which is fried cuttlefish. It was actually fresh and tasty. The sardines weren't bad either, juicy. But let's talk about the service. Picture this: you're starving, and you end up waiting a lot. I have a feeling, if I had a fishing rod, I could have caught and fried that cuttlefish faster myself. Then there's the salad. Oh, the lettuce! It looked like it had been through some rough times, dark spots and all. If I served lettuce like that, I would feel embarrassed. Let's hope they upgrade their greens and speed up the service. Right now, it's a solid 3 out of 5 from me!
