I don't usually write bad reviews on Google, but because of an employee and a mistake I'll have to write this one: I took my pregnant wife and friends to eat at the restaurant last Sunday. We had to wait for an hour outside as they don't have any system to organise/book tables. While we were waiting they offered wine to all the other portuguese people who were on the line but not to us, Brazilians (I thought it could be an accident at first as well). After we got the table we were well treated by a portuguese girl and an angolan guy (I wish I knew their names because they did a superb job), but the lunch was ruined by a Portuguese young employee with tattoos who arrived on the table not knowing the price of anything and being very dry on his treatment. He brought Calamari which we didn't order (but as we were 5 people and ordered many things we thought the calamari was included), he wanted to charge us at the end anyways and it took like half an hour for him to get it sorted. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, but while they have this one employee there I'll...

Terrible Experience for Families with Kids - Miguel Restaurant in Setúbal
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Miguel Restaurant in Setúbal. The menu listed a "Kids Menu" for 8 euros, which included chicken fillets. Since I was with two children, I planned to order one for each, along with a seafood stew (caldeirada) that cost 40 euros, though it didn’t specify how many people it served.
The waiter, who quickly proved to be very rude, asked how many people would be sharing the stew. When I said three, he insisted I order the larger stew for 65 euros, claiming it had more types of seafood. As I was about to agree, I asked for the kids' menus, only to be told they were no longer available. Instead, he suggested a dish for 18 euros per child, more than double the original price.
When I questioned why the kids' menu was no longer offered, the waiter gave me the ridiculous excuse that they "don’t get chicken in that region"—a clearly absurd reason. I suggested they could offer another dish instead, but it was clear the restaurant is only interested in catering to English tourists, charging exorbitant prices for everything.
After I questioned the removal of the kids' menu, the waiter became extremely rude, treating me so poorly that I decided to leave the restaurant. This place is definitely not suitable for families with children. Right next door, there are great options with varied kids' menus at reasonable prices, between 8 and 9 euros. I do not recommend Miguel Restaurant for anyone looking to have a family...
Read moreWe've eaten here before and it was amazing but this time it was really disappointing. We have a baby and asked for something for her straight away, the waitress said they had run out of bread but the starter would come straight away. 20 minutes later, nothing. We asked for just something to nibble as the baby was disturbing other diners, and the waitress said just wait, the starter was coming. My husband went to the car to get a snack as by this time it was 3pm and the baby was desperate. We saw other guests getting bread, cheese, starters - and so asked another waiter who said we could have bread no problem! At 3.10 our food arrived (with some bread) and it was all over-cooked. Dry fish, no salt, no condiments. And to top it off, we had to wait a further 10 minutes for the bill in an...
