Restaurante Parsley & Thyme — Restaurant in Silves

I had contacted the restaurant before we travelled to Portugal as I wanted to check that there would be no problem to have gluten free and also nightshade free meals.. I was reassured that this would be perfectly fine and they even gave me directions to the massive car park in Silves. On arrival we were greeted by friendly hosts and had a chat about the food available that day. Everything we ordered was delicious and despite none of us being vegetarian we were happy with the meals. I tried the burger and you honestly couldn't tell that it was not meat, it was delicious! My husband had an indian tapas selection and the chef even made a gluten free chapati for him! The restaurant is small so it's probably worth booking ahead during busy times. Had a lovely meal here tonight. We ate a group of veggie/vegans and a meat eater, all of us were amazed by the food served here. Between the five of us we shared a few dishes, the Indian Thali, the mezze plate x2 and the Persian tagine. The menu has a bit of everything, burgers, curry, kebab! Everything was priced reasonably. It is hard to find good vegan food in the Algarve and to find a restaurant that understands what vegan food is, so we were so happy to find this place and will come back again. Our friends recommended Parsley & Thyme to us for a visit in Silves. We got confused with Google Maps to find it, also because there is no visible plaque of the restaurant walking through the alley. But we found it, luckily. We ordered their Indian Thali Tapas from the menu and enjoyed it very much. After a stroll through the village we came back for desert; Apple & Red Fruits Crumble and Dark Chocolat Walnuts Brownie - we were in heaven!
