Tasca do Béne — Restaurant in Silves

Honestly one of the most unpleasant situations we had in Silves. Basically was ignored the entire night, missing dishes from what we ordered and the main dish was unpleasant to eat. I don’t like writing bad reviews but when we said we didn’t enjoy the main meal we were ignored and the bill was brought (the only bonus in this situation was we were given 1L of wine rather than the bottle we requested - about 30mins after ordering, while not very busy) So many great restaurants in the surrounding area, go there instead.

Edit - in response to the restaurant. Both myself and my partner work in hospitality and have the up most respect for busy service and hospitality. I hate leaving bad reviews and very rarely do. We have never experienced anything like this, a truly unpleasant situation. We felt we were unwanted from sitting down (they sat us at the table and knew we were there) we understand service being busy, in fact we are some of the most understanding customers as we have been there ourselves, but we were also aware that people who arrived after us were served before us (including a very lovely gentleman who worked at our hotel) clearly there is a favour to the locals which to an extent I understand but to not serve us a dish we ordered, to then ignore us when we said we did not enjoy the meal is truly...

We waited about 70-80 minutes to receive what we ordered. We noticed them and they didn't seem tobe affected of that. One of us ordered just a plate a French fries. After 90 minutes we received the French fries in a tiny plate. I asked how come we had to wait so long for such a minuscule fries portion. Again they didn't seem affected. They brought us a big portion for free without any excuse, it was simply thrown on the table without any word. Of course we didn't order dessert because we would have waited another hour. At the check they didn't bill us for the fries. The guy who seems to be the manager or the supervisor doesn't know to communicate. We didn't ask anything for free. Just some escuses, some compassion. The restaurant was not full. I note however 2 stars of 5 as the food was not bad. I tried in the last week many restaurants from the area. In all of them, we felt like the client is the king. Except for...

I arrived at the restaurant and sat outside. The waiter handed over the menu and returned inside. Sat outside, I waited at least 10min to order. As no one was coming outside I looked through the window and hand gestured the waiter letting him know I was ready to order. Then the problem begun...the waiter looked back to me aggressively and hand gestured indicating I had to wait. Not happy enough when he got outside, he continued to be rude saying he had other clients to take their order and that if I was in a rush I should leave...which of course I did. Is this kind of amateur indelicate and rude service that certainly does not put Algarve or its restaurants on the Map. I never got to try the food which I believe it should be good but honestly there is no way those guys see a...
